Here is a letter for President Ron Granger to all of our students.
Hello to all of our CNCC students
First and foremost, I want to thank all of you for working with your instructors to finish your classes. I know this has not been easy and know that you have made some very difficult transitions. We are all proud of you and are glad you are a part of Colorado Northwestern Community College.
I wanted to give all of you a few updates on where we are and what our plans are for the future at CNCC. Some of our Career and Technical Education students have come back to our campuses for the hands-on work they needed to finish classes and for some finish their degree program. Seeing students on campus has been great and has been a highlight in this very difficult time. We look forward to having all of you back and being able to interact with you again very soon.
So, what are our plans for the future? This summer we still have high hopes that we will be able to have our face to face classes that were scheduled. Most of those classes will start around June 1 if we get the approvals needed from the State of Colorado. Of course, online classes scheduled through us or the System will go on as scheduled.
This fall we plan to have things back to normal with all scheduled classes being held on our campuses. We also plan for our residence halls, dining hall, athletics, and other activities to be going strong again. We all are excited to be able to have all of you back here at CNCC. Again, I want to stress that we plan for FALL TO BE BACK TO NORMAL. As we all know, things can change but all of us at CNCC will do everything possible so you can join us again in person.
I also want to let you know that we do have protocols in place so that our students, staff, faculty and visitors will be safe on our campuses. We are lucky to be in Rio Blanco and Moffat counties because the total number of cases of COVID-19 is less than one tenth of one percent of our total population. This is one of the safest places in the country. In fact, there have not been any new cases of the virus in either county for almost three weeks.
I want to stress to all of you that this is the time to get back to your goal of receiving a degree. As we come out of this pandemic, the communities, states, our country and the world will need leaders to move us forward and get us all back on track again. You are those leaders and, with your education, will be the driving force for all of us to come out of this stronger than before.
Thank you for choosing CNCC as your college of choice and thank you for what you do now and what you will do in the future with the great education you will receive here. I look forward to seeing all of you in the fall. Be safe.
Sincerely,
Ron Granger
