Our 5th and 6th graders had an incredible day at Brierfield State Park for FAWN Day!

Our students had the opportunity to learn through hands-on experiences about:
Soil Science by exploring pH levels in soil and learning about nutrient deficiencies that can affect home gardens. Biodiversity in Alabama by discovering the incredible variety of plants and animals found throughout Alabama’s woods and rivers. Wildlife Conservation by learning how forest rangers help protect endangered birds and preserve Alabama’s natural habitats. Also, Fire & Rescue, and Wildfire Prevention.

We are so thankful for opportunities like FAWN Day and a special thank you to everyone at the Bibb County Extension Program and Brierfield State Park who helped make this such a fun and educational experience for our students!
