The goal of the Donovan PTO page is to share important information with students, family, and staff and engage in an open and respectful dialogue. The intent of this policy is to protect the privacy and rights of Donovan Elementary School students, families and staff. Naming specific students, parents or employees in a negative way will not be allowed. We welcome and encourage your input
on the Donovan PTO Facebook Group. When participating we ask that you abide by the following guidelines:
• Open conversation- please no personal issues. This page is not intended to circumvent regular communication channels for sharing personal issues and concerns. Comments regarding a personal issue with the school, a student, or a staff member will be removed.
• Be respectful of others and their privacy. Personal attacks or comments that are deemed offensive to any member of our community will not be tolerated. Inappropriate remarks and profanity/obscenities will be removed.
• Stay on topic. This is a page dedicated to the education of students in Donovan Elementary School. Let’s keep the conversation related to our PTO, school and school-based activities. Comments of all kinds are welcome so long as they directly relate to our school and activities. Any spam- i.e. repeatedly posting the same comment or comments that are simply advertising or promoting a service or product will be removed.
• Have a question or comment for a specific person? Contact them privately. Do not expect responses to every question or comment posted on this page.
• Be aware of the mission. The mission of the Donovan PTO is to support the education of our children. Please be certain that your comments are appropriate for an educational environment and people of all ages.
• Be factual. Blatantly inaccurate information will not be allowed. False information will be removed and factual information will be posted.
• Permission should be obtained before posting photos. Photos should be related to school events. Please contact a page administrator if you would like a photo removed. This page is yours and we want you to feel comfortable sharing your comments relating to the Donovan PTO and its related activities. Abuse of the above guidelines can lead to removal of a specific posting or the blocking/removal from the page.
