Trusty Training Solutions Black History Month Highlight of the Week: Dr. Carter G. Woodson, The Father of Black History

At Trusty Training Solutions, we believe in honoring those who paved the way for education, empowerment, and self-sufficiency in our communities. This week, we highlight Dr. Carter G. Woodson, the historian, author, and educator who is known as the “Father of Black History.”

Born in 1875 to formerly enslaved parents, Dr. Woodson dedicated his life to ensuring that Black Americans’ contributions were recognized and preserved. In 1926, he established Negro History Week, which later expanded into what we now celebrate as Black History Month. His groundbreaking book, The Mis-Education of the Negro, challenged systemic inequalities in education and remains a powerful tool for empowerment today.

Dr. Woodson’s work reminds us of the importance of knowledge, preparation, and the power of self-defense, not just in the physical sense, but in protecting and preserving our history, rights, and freedoms. At Trusty Training Solutions, we carry on his legacy by equipping our community with the education and training necessary to stay safe, empowered, and informed.
