It may look like play… but look a little closer. 🌿
Measuring. Comparing. Predicting. Reading. Sorting. Problem-solving. Asking questions.

This is what purposeful center time looks like at SPK—where curiosity leads the learning every single day. 💜🧡

Need ideas for a fun center for Earth Day this week? 🌎🌱

Try a simple Plant & Care Station your students can come back to all week:

🪴 Scoop soil into a cup
🌱 Plant a seed
💧 Water it
👀 Check on it each day

It’s hands-on, easy to set up, and gives children something they can watch grow over time.

You’ll get curiosity, conversation, and a whole lot of “look what happened!” moments throughout the week 💚

Monday, we’re here 🤍

To every teacher walking in today
take it one moment at a time.

You don’t have to do everything.
You just have to show up.

The little things you do every day?
They matter more than you think.

Give yourself grace this week.

Technology in the classroom can be a touchy topic… but in early childhood, it’s all about how it’s used. ✨

At Sweet Potato Kids, we incorporate tools like the Hatch Early Learning system to enhance learning in a way that feels natural, engaging, and developmentally appropriate.

Our days are filled with hands-on play, conversation, movement, and creativity—technology is just one of the many ways we support growth. Hatch allows children to explore literacy, math, and problem-solving through interactive experiences, while also helping teachers better understand and support each child’s individual learning journey.

It’s all about balance, intention, and meeting children where they are. 💜🧡

Center time is where curiosity takes the lead 💡✨

During this part of the day, children move through different areas of the classroom, choosing activities that spark their interest and keep them engaged.

What looks like a simple puzzle or hands-on activity is actually doing so much more:

🧠 strengthening fine motor skills
🎯 building focus and persistence
🗣️ encouraging problem-solving and independence
🔢 exploring early math and literacy concepts

Every choice they make, every piece they place, every moment they stay engaged… it all matters.

This is how confidence grows. 🌱💜

💜🧡 A peek inside the classroom!💜🧡
“This is our last week of investigating weather! Our question of the day was, “How does it feel outside today?” We all agreed it was warmer yesterday and a little chilly today. During large group time we discussed the things we like to do outside and made a list if these things. We also drew pictures of these activities during our art corner.

During our math corner we reviewed tally marks. We practiced counting 5 tally marks using popsicle sticks. During small group we played Number Bingo! ” - Ms. Sherry
