This interactive program for PreK-12 is perfect for the kid who loves animals, science, and fun! Children are fascinated by animals and display a deep passion for animal welfare and well-being at an early age. The Vets in Training Program embraces the human animal bond through interaction and education. By providing hands-on experienced-based education to each student in the program, the children are empowered to explore animals and the many facets of veterinary medicine. The Vets in Training staff will empower your child to appreciate that they are part of a greater community of animals. We aim to ignite the desire to have fun, become animal ambassadors, and explore the world of veterinary medicine and all that it has to offer.

MEET OUR TEACHERS WEEK! ✏️🐾

Miss Kim is the proud owner of the Vets in Training Program. She is also the acting director, organizing all classes and programs while teaching many fun and engaging classes to our students. She has run this program since 2022, expanding our summer camp and creating programs in schools throughout New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New York. Miss Kim has also added pet therapy to the Vets in Training, working with many local special needs schools, senior care centers, and retirement facilities.

Miss Kim obtained an Associate of Arts degree from Burlington County College in 2006 and continued on to Moore College of Art and Design where she majored in Art Education with a minor in Environmental Art. She graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts and a K-12 teaching certificate in the state of PA. After college Miss Kim worked in many schools before finding her home as a homeschool teacher at Fernbrook Farms Environmental Education Center. There, she started a unique environmental art after school program which developed into a full scale after school program partnered with Chesterfield Elementary School and other local schools in New Jersey. She then became the director of school programs and the assistant director of summer camp before leaving Fernbrook to focus on caring for her four children.

When our students returned to school after COVID, Miss Kim decided it was time to return to education. What she missed most about Fernbrook was the time spent learning and caring for the farm animals. So she found a new home with Vets in Training where she could continue her passion for learning and education as well as focus on live animals and the environment.

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Anthony and their four children, Gemma, Charlotte, Zoey, and Dylan. She has a dog named, Kubota that enjoys coming to work with her. She loves reading Steven King novels, being outside in nature, and drawing.

She is looking forward to meeting you and your children at Vets in Training!

MEET OUR TEACHERS WEEK! ✏️🐾

Miss Nicole is one of our preschool and homeschool teachers. She also travels to nursing homes to give pet therapy to senior citizens and travels to different public schools in the area for after school programs. She enjoys taking care of the animals at Vets in Training. She loves providing different exciting enrichment activities for the animals every day. She often works with small animal rescues that are available for adoption for our program as well as foster kittens. She has been with the company since February of 2024.

She has prior experience of working as a preschool teacher, and as an aide with children for nearly 8 years. She also has 3 years of experience working as a dietary specialist and as an activities assistant at a nursing home where she provided fun engaging activities for senior citizens. She is a life long animal lover and has always had a variety of different animals growing up. She used to show her pet rabbit at 4-H Fairs. She went to school for medical assisting/phlebotomy and uses her medical knowledge to help teach students about veterinary medicine. She is excited to be working at Vets in Training because she is surrounded by animals every day!

In her spare time, she enjoys going camping with her fiancé, Austin and their two dogs Ralphie and Randy. She has four cats named, Moose, Patches, Hazel, and Missy that she loves to care for. She loves spending time outside, going to the beach, being creative, playing guitar, singing, painting, and making crystal jewelry. She has her own jewelry business called, Sun Blessed Crystals where she often has a stand at local craft fairs in the area on the weekends.

She is looking forward to teaching Vets in Training students this school year!

MEET OUR TEACHERS WEEK! ✏️🐾

Miss Alison is one of our homeschool teachers. She teaches the upper level courses and travels to different schools in the area for after school programs. She provides husbandry care for our animals by evaluating their daily needs, checking their weights, monitoring their diets and overall health, performing nail trims, cleaning their environments, and breeding feeder insects. She has been with the company since March of 2024.

She has prior experience managing an Invertebrate Zoo where she oversaw animal husbandry, taught programs, and acquired new animals. Alison has been a veterinary technician for about 20 years and has experience in many different aspects. While working in veterinary medicine, Alison has fostered a love for the animals that are misunderstood. Her passion lies in teaching students to face their fears and view the world through a different mindset.

In her spare time, she enjoys going to flea markets with her fiancé, Chris. She loves going on daily walks into the woods to find different types of rocks and fossils. She loves insects, reptiles, and wildlife animals. She enjoys rescuing animals and currently has 4 cats, an assortment of insects and reptiles, and a hedgehog named MishMosh.

She is looking forward to sharing her knowledge with Vets in Training students this year!

MEET OUR TEACHERS WEEK! ✏️🐾

Ms. Maddy is one of the teachers and also attends the surgery observation class at Housepaws with the high school students. She also helps with taking care of the animals by feeding them, cleaning their cages, and giving them lots of love! She has been with Vets in Training since March of 2025.

Ms. Maddy has her bachelor’s degree in Liberal Arts with a concentration in Elementary Education from Stockton University where she graduated in 2022. She is looking to return to school to earn her master’s degree in Speech Pathology. She has over 10 years of experience working with children through day camps, summer camps, babysitting, and teaching. She has many years of animal experience, ranging from always having pets when growing up (cats, dogs, hamsters, bearded dragons, and chinchillas) to even working at Housepaws for a month as a kennel attendant, where she helped prepare cats and dogs get ready for surgery! Ever since Ms. Maddy was in Kindergarten, she knew she wanted to be a teacher but also wanted to work with animals and be a veterinarian so Vets in Training is the best of both worlds!

In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and her pets (two cats named Jack and Percy, two dogs named Henry and Olivia, and one rabbit named Thomas). She also enjoys reading, traveling, line dancing, crocheting, and walking her dogs!

Ms. Maddy is excited for this year at Vets in Training and to teach fun and interactive lessons!
