Nonna's House Preschool

Nonna's House Preschool Play Based, Reggio Inspired, Highscope Learning for your blooming Toddler! Hi, my name is Gina Hernandez. I have been a child care provider for over 30 years.

I started my career in child care when I was in my early 20s, and open my first in home daycare when my daughter was born in 1991. I transitioned to several licensed daycares in the years after, finally ending up at CDI, now Catalyst Kids. I worked for CDI for 23 years, starting as a program teacher and then a becoming a Site Director. I retired from CDI in 2020 and have since been taking care of

my young grandchildren. I missed the structured environment of preschool and decided it was time to return to my life's calling as a preschool teacher. My philosophies lie in a child's inherent nature to learn through play. I embrace a Highscope curriculum, including active learning, positive adult-child interactions, a child-friendly environment, a consistent daily routine and team-based assessments. I truly love engaging with young children, fostering their natural inclination to learn through exploration, and the desire to engage with their peers in a safe and fun environment.
