Good luck to Don Bosco Racer, Will Lennon, who is racing today at the Eastern High School Regional’s in Mittersill, NH!! Ski Fast and Have Fun!!

Congratulations to the Don Bosco Alpine Race team on winning the 2020 NJISRA Parochial Team State Championships for the 5th year in a row!!!

Our team also ended the 2020 NJISRA Season on the Team Overall podium again for the 5th straight year in a row!!!! Great team effort by everyone.

Don Bosco Ironmen won the 2020 NJISRA Liberty League Championships!

Don Bosco Ironmen Won the 2020 NJISRA Parochial Team State Championships! – 5th year in a row!!
Don Bosco Ironmen came in 3rd place in 2020 NJISRA Overall Team Championships!
Don Bosco Ironmen had a Liberty League record of 36 wins and only 2 losses!

Matt Sobkowicz - #8 overall in league races
Will Lennon - # 10 overall in league races
Adam Sujak - # 18 overall in league races
Jackson Kammen - #26 overall in league races – Did not race.
Spencer Donohue - #41 overall in league races

Through the “Race of Champions”, which was 2 runs of Slalom and 2 runs of GS in the same day, the following athletes qualified for the 2020 NJISRA All-State Teams:
Adam Sujak - 2020 NJISRA 1st team All State – 6th place overall in NJISRA
Will Lennon – 2020 NJISRA 1st team All State – 8th place overall in NJISRA
Matt Sobkowicz – 2020 NJISRA 3rd team All State – 18th place overall in NJISRA

Adam Sujak and Will Lennon have received invitations to attend the 2020 Eastern High School Championships, which will be held at Cannon Mountain, NH on March 5-9, 2020. Matt Sobkowicz is an alternate for this event.

Coaches Phil and Zach will be participating in the "24 hours of Stratton" on 3/21 & 3/22 to help raise money for those living in poverty, in southern Vermont! The Don Bosco Alpine Race team is keeping Father Peter in our prayers!!
He was the moderator of the Don Bosco Ski Club, which eventually became the Don Bosco Alpine Race Team, back in the late 1980's!!

Fr. Peter worked at Don Bosco Prep for several decades: teaching, moderating the Ski Club, chaperoning European trips, managing the bookstore and more. He will be remembered by many alumni, including Coach Phil!
Several years ago, Fr. Peter was diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. He has been in a care center for Salesians in Castello Di Godego in the province of Treviso, Italy, near where he was born and raised. Funeral services are being held there.
Our prayers join those of his family. May he rest in peace.

This past weekend was our annual preseason trip to Stratton Mountain. The weather was definitely less than favorable, but only Ironmen would spend two full days training in these extreme conditions!! This season we will have the largest ski race team in Don Bosco history!!
