We 🩷 our amazing Brookside Elementary School teachers & staff! Last week we had the chance to show our appreciation with a spread of goodies throughout the week in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week! 🥰

🍩 Monday breakfast: Gluten free donuts provided by Happy Belly Bakery LLC! Additional donuts provided by Kwik Trip in Anoka, Fruit provided by a generous donation to Brookside Elementary School PTO! 🫶🏽

🌮 Tuesday Taco Bar: provided by Acapulco Mexican Restaurant - Ramsey, MN and the parents of a 2nd grader! 😊

🍿 Friday Popcorn Bar: provided by parent donations 🙌🏼

Brookside Elementary will have a Track and Field Fun Day on Friday, May 15th.

Some helpful hints for you and your child:
1. Listen to the weather forecast and have your child dress for those conditions. If it is pouring rain we will not have the event and there will be communication going out. There will not be a make-up day. Dress your child in layers that they can put on or take off as needed. Students are encouraged to wear a shirt in the color designated for their grade level.

2. For safety reasons, all students must wear tennis shoes that stay securely on their feet. No sandals, cleats, boots, crocs or flip flops.

3. Grades K-5 events will rotate every 15 minutes in the morning starting at 9:30 AM. Each student will rotate between the stations with their home room class.

9:30-10:30- 4th grade
10:30-11:30- 3rd grade
11:30-12:30- 5th grade
12:30-1:30- 1st grade
1:30-2:30- Kindergarten
2:30-3:30- 2nd grade

4. Students will be eating lunch with their grade level in the lunch room as normal. We cannot accommodate lunch visitors because of the restricted lunch menu and the time of the year.

5. You are welcome to come and watch the outside activities; parents will be unable to visit the classroom during the day. If younger siblings are attending track and field day they need to be supervised at all times. Please refer to the schedule and meet students outside. Parking will be available in the front parking lot. Carpooling is encouraged because parking will be limited. DO NOT PARK UNTIL 9:15. If parking on school property you need to park in a designated parking spot. There is no parking in the fire lane.

6. Protect your child with sunscreen before they come to school. Students may bring a water bottle labeled with their name and class.

7. You are welcome to bring lawn chairs and umbrellas. Please do not bring canopies or your pet to this event. Thank you

8. If you are planning on taking your child home after track and field, please sign them out with the classroom teacher.

This is a day for the students of Brookside. Encourage your child to try their best, show good sportsmanship, and have fun!
