Good morning Ramsey! First, we want to say thank you to our supporters for the trust you put in us and for all your help during this campaign. While we may not have won seats on the Board of Education, we are very proud of the campaign we ran and promise to stay on top of the issues we identified. We also want to congratulate Nicholas Capuano, Laura Leonard and Andrew Seltzer. We wish you success in working on behalf of Ramsey students, and ask that you also consider the voices of the many voters who believe we need to restore balance to the Ramsey school district. These slides address the key points made in the District's "Frequently Asked Questions" memo responding to issues raised in our campaign, which was just circulated to all Ramsey School District parents. While this was an obvious misuse of District resources intended to affect an election, we have, nonetheless, taken the time to respond so that you can make a fully informed decision tomorrow. Each slide will contain a link to a corresponding post that contains all sources in comments so that you can verify our points or dig deeper into any issue as you see fit. The District's memo does not fully address issues we raised concerning it's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiative. We do not accept the narrative that Ramsey is a racist place that needs to be corrected through sweeping school district initiatives.
We believe in fostering kindness, inclusion and acceptance, and celebrating the individuality of all students, who all have something to give, and all have room to grow. We believe in providing all students with appropriate supports to help them succeed, but also that identity is so much deeper and complex than any immutable traits or boxes to be checked. We believe in teaching students how to think, not what to think and, that given the tools to succeed, they will naturally grow to make good decisions that help make the world a better place. That is our vision for Ramsey.

Capuano, Seltzer and Leonard--echoed by the District in its FAQ memo, are essentially telling you that, yes, we are spending more, but that's okay, because we are still above state average. Don't like the rankings? Blame the rankings. Don't like the test, blame the test. We're sorry, but that just isn't good enough. It's time to stop spending more and getting less. It's time for a change.

When we voted for both the 2018 bond referendum and 2019 all-day kindergarten referendum, we trusted that this massive investment would include everything the District needed. Since then, the District has spent nearly $4 million more for a new building for the administration, and now we learn that there are many other ongoing projects that were not part of the referendum, even as the bond construction continues. How much more spending can this community bear? It's time for a change.

Here is a recap of issues we raised regarding the $43 million bond referendum and promised reduction in taxes that were not addressed by the District's memo (although we will keep an eye on it for changes that further misuse District resources by responding to campaign issues).
