Move over, Judge Judy. The AIG classroom just took fairy tales to court!

The Ramseur AIG students used the Depth and Complexity framework to dive deep into classic fairy tales examining multiple perspectives, uncovering hidden patterns, and analyzing the ethics of characters. The culmination was a mock trial in which students took on courtroom roles such as judge, bailiff, attorney, witness, etc. The arguments were fierce, the evidence was compelling, and the verdicts were... surprising!

Today in AIG, fourth graders became angle experts! 📐

Using tape, we created different angles right on our tables, and students were challenged to predict the measurements before checking their thinking with protractors. The excitement (and a few surprised faces!) when they compared estimates to actual measurements was priceless.

Through this hands-on activity, students discovered:
• How angles on a straight line add up to 180° and the full circle is 360 degrees
• Strategies to check if their measurements were accurate
• That the angles in a triangle always add up to 180°

So proud of their critical thinking, teamwork, and perseverance as they explored geometry in a fun and engaging way!

Today in AIG, our classroom was buzzing with energy—literally! ⚡🐥

Students explored the basics of electricity by becoming part of a human electric circuit to power a chirping chick. It was such a fun and memorable way to see how circuits work in real life!

Afterward, they put their knowledge into action using Snap Circuits Junior kits, where they designed and built their own unique circuits. From creative problem-solving to hands-on discovery, these young engineers were fully engaged and thinking like true innovators.

Learning + creativity + a little bit of chirping = a fantastic day in AIG! 💡✨

Today, fourth grade AIG students tackled a thrilling logic challenge called “Disease Detective: Zombie Outbreak.” Using sharp reasoning skills and witness interviews, they investigated what caused certain people to turn into zombies. 🧟‍♂️🧠

All clues led to a carnival in Vancouver — and with careful analysis and teamwork, students pieced together the mystery to uncover the cause of the outbreak! 🎡🔍

These young detectives proved that logic and critical thinking can save the day — even in a zombie apocalypse! 🧠💪

🧠🧩 Brains and Logic… but no bites! 🧩🧠

Today, 3rd grade AIG students put their critical thinking skills to the test with a zombie-themed logic mystery! Using eyewitness accounts as clues, they had to determine what the zombies at the birthday party had in common that the other guests didn’t. 🧟🎉

It took teamwork, reasoning, and lots of logical thinking—but these young detectives cracked the case! 🕵️‍♀️💡

5th grade AIG students have officially begun their new unit, SEED by Brian Housand! Today, we kicked things off with The Secret School — and the excitement is already growing. Students are eager to crack the code and uncover the mysteries ahead. I can’t wait to see their curiosity and creativity blossom as we dive deeper into this adventure! 🌟

🚗💡 AIG on the Road!
Today I had the pleasure of taking my 5th grade AIG students to visit local inventor, Mr. Byron Owens, after completing their own invention projects. Students were excited to meet a real inventor, see his creative process firsthand, and ask questions about innovation and problem-solving.

We appreciate Mr. Owens for taking the time to share his expertise and inspire our young inventors — we learned so much from his experiences! 🌟🔧💭
