Great reminders from the Ralston Police Department.

🚸 School Zone Safety Reminder 🚸

School has been back in session for a couple of weeks, and we want to remind everyone to slow down, stay alert, and follow posted traffic laws in the school zones around Ralston. A few extra seconds of caution can help keep our students, families, and staff safe.

Ralston High School

🚫 No stopping, standing, or parking along Park Dr. Please do not stop to drop off or pick up passengers. Use the school parking lot instead.

🔄 No U-turns are permitted on Park Dr.

🚶 Watch for pedestrians and always yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.

Ralston Middle School, Seymour Elementary School, St. Gerald Catholic

➡️ Lakeview St. is one-way between 80th St. and 84th St., with traffic traveling eastbound only.

🐢 The speed limit on Lakeview St. between 77th Ave. and 84th St. is 15 mph during morning and afternoon school hours.

🚗 Watch for signs marking designated drop-off areas, and do not park where signs prohibit parking.

➡️ 79th St. between Seymour St. and Lakeview St. is one-way before and after school, with traffic traveling southbound only.

🚶 Watch for pedestrians and always yield to pedestrians in crosswalks.

Big news from Nebraska Kid Governor Charlie Couch!

Charlie is kicking off a "Back to School" Supply Drive to benefit Hope Lodge Omaha, a place that gives cancer patients and their families a free "home away from home" while they receive life-saving treatment.

We want to fill those collection bins to the brim! Look for the marked bins at these locations:
Ralston Public Schools Admin Office
Ralston High School
Meadows Elementary School
City of Ralston Baright Public Library
Applewood Hy-Vee

RPS Families – Is your student(s) in need of a FREE backpack? Thanks to the generosity of our friends at the La Vista Costco, we have brand-new, free backpacks to distribute to those who would like one.

All you need to do is stop by the Ralston Public Schools Administration Office between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Our receptionist will have four different options for you to choose from. Pick one out and take it home.
