It’s been a busy semester for our Dolphins! 🐬 We had a family game night - carnival style - and it was a hit! Thank you to all of the families and students who came out to participate. Huge shoutout to the staff, volunteers, and sponsors for making it possible! 🫶

It’s commencement weekend, and it won’t be long before our dolphins are making their post high school decisions! This group of 8th graders got the chance to visit The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill a few weeks ago with the Step at UNC program. They learned about the life of a college student and visited the basketball museum! Could we have some future Tarheels in these photos? 🩵🤍🐏

Tonight our DRMS Spotlight on Student nominee, Valentino (8th grade), was honored at Wakefield High School! 🎉 We’re so proud of his accomplishments and know he’ll continue to succeed as he moves into high school. But, wait! Another former dolphin, Amna (8th grade) was recognized tonight, too by Wakefield Middle! ♥️ Once a dolphin, always a dolphin. 🐬 Round of applause for these two! 👏🏼👏🏽👏🏾👏🏿

The Be Pro Be Proud truck was an amazing experience for our 8th grade students (and staff!) to learn about careers and try them out in a variety of simulations. 😎

We had a BLAST at our PTA Winter Dance! Good music, dancing, cocoa, book fair, photo ops…what more could you want!? THANK YOU to the DRMS PTA, family volunteers, and Durant staff who helped make this a success! ♥️🏕️ 🪵🔥

The results are in, and the conclusion is clear: Mrs. Smith is the DRMS Teacher of the Year! 🏆 This incredible 6th Grade Science teacher doesn’t just teach the facts, she sparks curiosity and lights the path of discovery for every student. We’re beyond proud to honor the impact she makes daily! Thank you for inspiring the next generation of innovators! 🔭🔬✨

Our 6th grade dolphins had a very special visitor today! 📚 Students were delighted to learn about author Kwame Mbalia’s writing process, sources of inspiration, and hilarious stories along the way. Special thanks to Page 158 Books for arranging the visit!
