September is Attendance Awareness Month!

Attendance matters because every day of learning matters! Scholars cannot learn, grow, and achieve academic excellence if they are not present and ready to learn.

Throughout September, we’re making great attendance something to celebrate! For every week of perfect attendance, scholars will earn an extra Dress Down Pass to use the following Monday! And we’re ending the month BIG with a Silly String & Snacks Party to celebrate our attendance success!

Parents, we haven’t forgotten about you! Families will also have opportunities to be entered into prize raffles this month.

Remember, perfect attendance means being at school on time, all day, every day. Every minute counts, and together we can build strong habits that help our scholars RISE to academic excellence.

Our soccer team is getting ramped up, locked in, and ready for an incredible season! From building skills to building chemistry, every practice is another step toward what promises to be an exciting year on the field.

We can’t wait to cheer them on as they represent RISE with Resilience, Integrity, Scholarship, and Excellence.

Yesterday, we had the privilege of welcoming our RISE Board of Directors to campus for their annual retreat! 🧡💙

We are incredibly fortunate to have a Board that is deeply invested in the growth, success, and future of RISE. Their leadership goes far beyond the boardroom—they take the time to experience firsthand the programs, people, and progress that make our school special.

And, of course, we couldn’t let them leave hungry! 🍽️ Our Board members joined our scholars for lunch and got a taste of our new Food Is Fuel scratch-cooked lunch program.

Strong schools are built with strong leadership, shared vision, and people who truly believe in the mission.

🏆 FALL SPORTS ARE IN MOTION, EAGLES!🦅

Today marks Day 2 of Middle School Fall Sports Tryouts for Soccer, Volleyball & Cross-Country!

We’re excited to see our scholar-athletes show up, work hard, compete, and give their BEST effort.

A few important reminders for tryouts:

👟 Bring a change of clothes and athletic shoes
📋 A current sports physical is required
📚 All required academic forms must be completed
🚗 Scholars must be picked up promptly at 5:15 PM each day

SPECIAL GUEST SATURDAY 🦅

Excellence recognizes excellence.

This week, RISE had the pleasure of welcoming former Raleigh Mayor Mary-Ann Baldwin to campus!

After 15 years of service to the City of Raleigh—including five years as mayor—Ms. Baldwin knows a little something about what it means to think boldly, embrace innovation and turn big ideas into action.

During her visit, she got an inside look at one of our big ideas: our new “Food Is Fuel” scratch-cooked meal pilot, designed to rethink what school lunch can look like for scholars. She also spent time meeting our incredible staff and, most importantly, the amazing scholars at the heart of everything we do.

At RISE, isn’t simply something we expect in the classroom. It’s how we challenge ourselves to make every part of the scholar experience better.

Thank you, Ms. Baldwin, for spending time with our RISE community and seeing that excellence in action. 🧡💙
