Once again NC State has ranked among the best colleges in the nation, according to Princeton Review, continuing what has become an annual tradition. 👏

NC State earned top-10 rankings on two of Princeton Review’s best-value lists. The university is No. 6 among schools that provide the best value for students with no demonstrated financial need. For best value overall among public schools, NC State comes in at No. 9. Both rankings are unchanged since last year.

NC State’s newest building to honor a woman is one of many such landmarks on and off campus, a tradition that goes all the way back to the school’s first female employee in 1889.

Two out-of-this-world days with NC State hero Christina Koch. 👏🚀

The NASA astronaut and alumna returned home to the campus where she earned three degrees, welcomed by a renamed building with her name on it, a limited-edition taste of her own Howling Cow ice cream, and a whole Wolfpack cheering her on.

In February 1985, Dolly Parton and Kenny Rogers played a rollicking, sold-out concert at Reynolds Coliseum.

The country superstar, fancily dressed in bright yellow sequins and gold fringe with 5-inch yellow heels, played a 40-minute set to open for country superstar and NC State fan favorite Kenny Rogers. The two were on a three-month, 29-city tour — their first ever together — to promote their duet “Islands in the Stream.”

NC State was her launchpad. Now, Christina Hammock Koch Hall will be the home for the next generation of thinkers and doers.

“I will embody the values of integrity, excellence and humility, of thinking first and always doing, too,” Koch said at yesterday’s celebration. “I will keep coming back — not just for ribbon cuttings, but for office hours. For the students in the fourth row who think they are the only ones in the room who don't understand, and who have not yet been told that isn’t a disqualification.”

Did you get the scoop? Yesterday at astronaut Christina Koch’s welcome home celebration, Chancellor Kevin Howell announced a new flavor of NC State Howling Cow Ice Cream called Howl at the Moon. This limited-edition flavor features a cheesecake ice cream with blueberry and raspberry swirls and pieces of graham cracker pie crust.

Howl at the Moon will be available for a limited time at Talley Student Union and the Howling Cow Dairy Education Center and Creamery, while supplies last.
