This month, 82-year-old Bob Guzzo was officially enshrined in the NC State Athletic Hall of Fame. During the event, he received one of the biggest ovations of the 10 inductees, a celebration of a coaching career that made the Wolfpack a national power.
During his time as the NC State Wrestling coach, he won 12 ACC tournament titles, produced 86 individual ACC champions and 24 All-America athletes. 👏

Walt Wolfram, a renowned linguistics professor at NC State, is retiring after 34 years with the NC State College of Humanities and Social Sciences.
“Walt has fundamentally changed how we think about language, not just as a field of study, but as a way of connecting with communities," said CHASS Dean Deanna Dannels.

Dr. Youngsoo "Richard" Kim, a distinguished NC State Engineering professor, is the 2026 recipient of the O. Max Gardner Award — the UNC System's highest faculty honor. 👏
One of the world's leading scholars on asphalt pavement, Kim is recognized for his innovations that extend the life of highways, reduce costs, decrease environmental impacts, increase safety and improve the daily lives of millions.
“We are incredibly proud of Dr. Kim’s groundbreaking accomplishments – including the contributions he has made to improving safety and transportation infrastructure across the world,” said NC State Chancellor Kevin Howell. “In addition, Dr. Kim has left an immeasurable impact on his peers and students, and we are grateful that he has made NC State his academic home.”
