The NC State College Advising Corps was launched the summer of 2014, starting with 10 advisers serving 10 high schools. As recent graduates of NC State, the advisers are trained and placed in underserved, rural high schools to assist students who may not have seen college as a possibility. They are often the key resource for students to persist in their education beyond high school and become mentors within the school setting. Further, the NC State College Adviser serves as a role model for service and an expressive voice of the importance of an educated workforce.
