Wakefield Wolverine Club Wakefield High School Athletic Booster Club Organization This allows our activities to be exempt from Federal Income Tax.

We operate as a tax exempt, non-profit organization and are fully compliant with the guidelines of 501(c)(3) Public Charities as defined by the Internal Revenue Service. We operate solely in support of all Wakefield High School student athletic programs. Our operation is governed by a set of by-laws that were initially drafted and accepted in 2001 and revised in 2004. We currently have a 10 member Board of Directors, including WHS Principal Malik Bazzell and WHS Athletic Director Chancey Wolfe . The Wake County Public School System provides less than 1% of the Wakefield Athletic Department’s budget of more than $200,000. Gate receipts from those sports where admission is charged makes up another 23% of the requirement, leaving the Wolverine Club to raise 76% of the money needed to support our student athletes.
