Happy National Children's Gardening Week!
πΏ Gardening with kids is about so much more than plantsβitβs about growth in every sense! π±
This quote says it all: βWe may think we are nurturing our garden, but of course it's our garden that is really nurturing us.β Gardening teaches kids patience, responsibility, and the magic of watching life unfold. Plus, the fresh air, movement, and sense of accomplishment? Priceless.
Want to get started? Iβve got tips on the benefits of gardening for kids, square foot gardening with kids, and a kidsβ garden planner to help you dig in!

ππΏ Week 2 of Little Sprouts Garden Club was full of discovery, digging, and tiny garden explorers! πΏπ
This week our little gardeners became insect investigators as we explored the important role bugs and worms play in helping gardens grow. The children used magnifying glasses, gardening tools, and all five senses to observe the natural world around them.
From smelling herbs and identifying scents to digging in the soil and searching for tiny creatures, every moment was filled with curiosity, teamwork, and hands-on learning. πͺ±ππ±
One of the sweetest parts of the day was watching the children carefully create their own garden spaces, work together, and proudly investigate what they found underground.
At A Safe Place, we believe some of the best learning happens outsidewith dirt on our hands, wonder in our hearts, and nature as our classroom. π

π± Look whatβs growing in our garden!
We are so excited to celebrate our first beautiful piece of okra from the garden. This is more than just a vegetable, itβs a reminder of the joy, patience, and learning that happens when children get their hands in the soil and watch something grow. π
At A Safe Place, our garden continues to teach lessons about nature, healthy foods, responsibility, and wonder.
First okra of the seasonβ¦ and many more garden blessings to come! πΏβ¨

π± Little Hands, Big Lessons in the Garden! π±
Today our children enjoyed hands-on learning in the garden, watering plants, exploring the soil, observing nature, and helping care for our outdoor learning environment.
These moments are more than play. They teach responsibility, patience, teamwork, science, and a love for the earth. From planting and watering to discovering how things grow, our children are building real-life connections with nature every day.
At A Safe Place, we believe the garden is a classroom too. π
