Saint Mary's School is a College Preparatory Boarding School & Day School for Girls, Gr. 9-12.

Saint Mary's School was founded in 1842 in the Episcopal tradition. The historic, residential 23-acre campus is within easy driving distance of world-renowned Research Triangle Park and the Raleigh-Durham International Airport. Saint Mary's offers a comprehensive range of opportunities enabling girls to compete in college and today's global economy. Saint Mary's School offers 16 Advanced Placement

courses and a full complement of honors courses, competition in 11 sports and on 16 teams, a comprehensive fine arts program, and signature technology, advising, and co-curricular programs to prepare students for independence and success in college and life. Thirty-two of the school's nationally recruited faculty and staff live on campus, and 80 percent of the faculty holds advanced degrees in their field. The student/faculty ratio is 8:1 and the average class size is 13 students. The school's 300 students hail from 14 states and seven countries- Bahamas, China, Dominica, Korea, Rwanda, and the US.

Today in Chapel, students, faculty, and staff added their names to the Saint Mary’s Honor Code, reaffirming our community’s shared commitment to honesty, respect, and responsibility.

The signing marks the culmination of Honor Week, during which our Judicial Board has encouraged the community to reflect on what it means to live with integrity and to hold ourselves, and one another, to the values that define Saint Mary’s.

Since 1842, the Honor Code has been an important part of life at Saint Mary’s. Today’s signatures continue that legacy, connecting this year’s Saints with generations of students who have made the same commitment before them. ✨

Our word is our bond. 🤝

Weekends at Saint Mary’s = always something to do! 💙

From catching Spider-Man: Brand New Day and hitting the mini golf course to making candy sushi in Lower Smedes, our Saints made the most of another fun-filled weekend. 🍿⛳🍣

With 10 activities to choose from every weekend, there’s always a new adventure to try, a place to explore, or a chance to spend time with friends. Just one more reason weekends at Saint Mary’s are pretty hard to beat! ✨

Celebrating spiritual leadership at Saint Mary’s! 🩵

Yesterday afternoon, our community gathered in Chapel for the annual Vestry Commissioning, affirming and celebrating the students who will serve as our 2026-2027 Vestry. Through their leadership, service, and faith, these Saints will play a special role in the spiritual life of our community throughout the year.

We are grateful for their willingness to serve and look forward to all they will bring to our Chapel community this year. Congratulations to our newest Vestry members! ✨

There’s nothing like starting the school year surrounded by your Saint Mary’s sisters! 🩵

This past Sunday, each grade gathered for our annual Grade Level Dinners, a special Saint Mary’s tradition that gives classmates a chance to connect, catch up, and spend time together outside the classroom. From welcoming new faces to strengthening friendships that have grown over the years, these evenings are such a meaningful way to begin the year together.

A heartfelt thank you to the families who graciously opened their homes and hosted our students, and to the Saint Mary’s Parents Association for helping make these gatherings possible. We’re so grateful for the community that makes traditions like these so special! 🩵

From move-in and orientation to FDOC, Sigma-Mu Day, our first Chapel and first Assembly, we had a week full of familiar traditions, new beginnings, and plenty of Saint Mary’s spirit. We’re so happy to have our Saints back together and can’t wait for all that our 185th year has in store! ✨

SIGMA❤️ OR MU🩵?

Saint Mary’s spirit was on full display Friday for Sigma-Mu Day! From the excitement of the sorting ceremony to an afternoon of friendly competition, students celebrated a beloved tradition that dates back to 1900.

Congratulations to Sigma on taking the win Friday! ❤️ But the competition is just getting started. Our students, faculty, and staff will continue earning points through games, activities, service, and more throughout the year for their teams!

There’s nothing quite like the start of a new school year! 🩵

Over the past few days, campus has been coming back to life as we welcomed our student leaders, greeted our newest Saints, and kicked off orientation. Today, we’re thrilled to welcome all of our returning boarding and day students back to Saint Mary’s!

Tomorrow marks the first day of classes (FDOC!), and we can’t wait to see what this year holds. New opportunities, new memories, new challenges, and so many moments to learn, lead, and grow are just ahead.

Here’s to another incredible year at Saint Mary’s. We’re so glad our Saints are home! 🩵
