Sometimes God gives direction one step at a time.

Abraham was told to go before he knew where he was going. He did not receive the full picture first. He received an instruction.

That can feel uncomfortable when you want certainty, clarity, timelines, or confirmation before moving.

But often, faith grows while you are moving forward, not while you are standing still waiting for every detail.🙌🏽

When shame has been speaking for years, it can slowly become the loudest voice in a person’s life. Over time, many people stop seeing shame as something they experienced and begin seeing it as who they are. That shift quietly affects self-worth, identity, confidence, relationships, decision-making, and even the ability to receive grace fully.

As coaches, we have to remember that not every client who needs healing needs more information. Some need help untangling the voices they have agreed with for far too long. Guilt, rejection, fear, condemnation, regret, humiliation, and painful experiences can all shape internal narratives that continue speaking long after the original moment has passed.

Part of Holy Spirit-led coaching is helping clients slow down long enough to recognize the difference between the voice of shame and the voice of Jesus. Shame condemns and reduces people to their worst moments. Jesus restores, redirects, and reminds people who they are beyond the pain, the mistake, or the exposure.

This kind of work deeply impacts self-worth because many people have spent years measuring their value through failure, rejection, performance, or the opinions of others. Healing often begins when they realize every internal voice does not deserve authority.

In John 8, Jesus did not join the condemnation surrounding the woman. He responded with wisdom, compassion, truth, and grace. That moment still carries so much weight for coaching conversations today because many clients are still carrying stones that were never meant to define them.

As Holy Spirit-led coaches, we have the opportunity to help create spaces where people can begin releasing shame, rebuilding self-worth, and hearing truth more clearly again.
