We’re doing it again.

When I started the first 30-Day Write & Publish Your Devotional Challenge, I knew I wanted to help people stop sitting on the devotional they had been thinking about writing and actually get it written.

Then I watched them do it.

They worked through their ideas, wrote their devotionals, learned the publishing process, uploaded their books, ordered proof copies, and became published authors. Seeing those books arrive has probably been one of my favorite parts of this whole experience.

So, Cohort 2 is coming.

We’ll begin September 15, and once again I’m keeping the group small. There are only 15 seats because I want to be able to work with the writers, see what they’re working on, answer questions, and help them keep moving when they get stuck.

If a devotional has been sitting in your notes, your computer, your journal, or simply in your head for longer than you care to admit, maybe this is your time to do something with it.

I was looking through some images from a few years ago and ran across this toolbox. Everyone who attended our first HIScoach conference received a toolbox.

Who remembers?

Some things are built to follow trends. Others are built to stand the test of time.

Since 2010, HIScoach Training Academy has been equipping Holy Spirit-led Christian coaches with biblical wisdom, practical coaching skills, and the confidence to coach with integrity.

Our foundation has always been Isaiah 6:8 (ESV):

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send, and who will go for us?’ Then I said, ‘Here I am! Send me.’”

Equipping Holy Spirit-led Christian coaches to impact lives whenever, wherever, and however God sees fit.

For sixteen years later, we’re still saying yes to the assignment.

Here’s to what God has done and to all He has yet to do.

Grateful for every student, every graduate, and every opportunity to serve.

Is charging for Christian coaching biblical?

This is one of the most common questions I hear from aspiring Christian coaches.

Many feel guilty about setting prices because they genuinely want to honor God and help people. Yet Scripture never teaches that those who labor in ministry or provide biblical instruction should never be compensated.

There is a difference between the free gift of salvation and the time, wisdom, preparation, and care involved in walking alongside someone through coaching.

In this week's blog, we're opening the Bible to look at what Scripture actually says about charging for Christian coaching, common misconceptions, and how to approach your coaching business with both biblical integrity and confidence.

If you've ever wrestled with charging for your coaching services, this article is for you.

Happy International Self Care Day!

As Christian coaches, we spend so much time pouring into others that it’s easy to overlook our own well being. Yet taking care of yourself is good stewardship.

Today, give yourself permission to take a holy pause.

Take a few moments to:
• Prioritize rest.
• Set healthy boundaries.
• Spend time with the Lord and allow Him to refresh your mind, body, and spirit.

You don’t have to earn rest. You simply need to receive it. It’s actually a gift from the Father…

Consider this truth…”It is in vain that you rise up early and go late to rest, eating the bread of anxious toil; for he gives to his beloved sleep.” Psalm 127:2 ESV

If you’re looking for a community of Holy Spirit-led Christian coaches who are committed to growing personally and professionally, we’d love to have you join us.

You have a client who can’t stop fixing everyone else’s problems.

No matter how exhausted they become, they keep showing up to rescue, solve, carry, and hold everything together. They pour and pour until there’s little left for themselves.

Even without the mental, emotional, physical, or spiritual capacity, they still feel responsible for everyone else’s well-being.

It’s a pattern, and it has a name: Fixer.

If you’ve been coaching for any length of time, you know exactly who this client is.

Comment “FIXER” if someone came to mind.

Sometimes God restores what discouragement has stolen.

After Elijah’s victory on Mount Carmel, fear and discouragement caused him to lose sight of what God was still doing. He believed he was standing alone, but God reminded him that He had preserved a faithful remnant.

“Yet I will leave seven thousand in Israel, all the knees that have not bowed to Baal…”
1 Kings 19:18 ESV

Discouragement has a way of narrowing our perspective. It can convince us that nothing is changing, no one understands, and God is no longer at work. The truth is, God is often accomplishing things we cannot yet see.

WIG SAD Check-In:

What is God saying about that situation?

Sometimes the first thing God restores is not our circumstances. It’s our perspective.

Some clients don’t struggle because they care too much.

They struggle because being needed has become part of how they define themselves.

As Christian coaches, it’s important to recognize the difference.

Helping others is a beautiful expression of God’s love. But when a client’s identity becomes wrapped up in rescuing, fixing, or carrying everyone else’s burdens, the issue is no longer just boundaries. It’s an identity issue that deserves compassionate, biblically grounded coaching.

In this week’s blog, I share practical insights to help you recognize this pattern and guide your clients toward healthier, Christ-centered ways of helping others without losing themselves in the process.

Helping isn’t the problem. Making it their identity is.
