Admission is by a pre-application due in early December; followed by Magnet Lottery in February. Open Houses are held for visits in October-November. WYMLA offers middle school and high school students the opportunity to participate in a learning environment that is uniquely designed to c
hallenge each boy as an individual. WYMLA partners with Oberlin Middle School for sports for grades 7-8 and Needham Broughton High School for sports grades 9-12. Students in grades 6-10 attend their classes on the main campus, The Thompson Building, at 567 E. Hargett St., Raleigh. Uniform Dress Code required. Students in grades 11-13 join their peers from the Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy for classes at our Early College Partner (Fall 2025 - Shaw University) in Raleigh. Students who are succeeding in their high school and college courses have the opportunity to stay a 13th year in order to acquire up to 64 college credits. Express Bussing is provided by WCPSS.
