The OFFICIAL AND ONLY page for the Mistletoe Market benefiting the WHS PTSA fundraiser. Each year we collect over 1000 pounds of food for needy families.
The Mistletoe Market Holiday Fair at Wakefield is one of the largest shopping extravaganzas in the Triangle area with over 200 vendors each season. 2022 will be our 21st year. History: The Junior Class council and their advisor began running an arts and crafts fair as a fundraiser for the Prom in 2000. As the event grew, the WHS PTSA got involved and in 2003 started using it as their main (and onl
y) fundraiser for the year. The event has continued to grow and become one of the most anticipated events of the holiday season. There is always a wonderful variety of merchandise to shop from including: women’s accessories; gourmet food; ceramics; jewelry; baby items and children’s books; doggy apparel; paintings; Christmas crafts; wreaths, trees, and garland; glass ornaments; home décor and more. After all expenses are taken into account, the Mistletoe Market raises thousands of dollars each year for our school based upon admission sales, vendor booth rentals, basket raffles, a bake sale and food court concessions. This annual event also partners with Tri Area Ministries, a non-profit organization benefiting local communities for over 30 years, which encourages shoppers to donate canned food items on shopping day. The Mistletoe Market committee is comprised of parent volunteers who begin their work in July, soliciting and receiving vendor applications, and working on various sub-committees to put on the show. School department chairs (teachers) help to solicit baskets and filler items for the basket raffles. Clubs and booster organizations are also represented at the event: Wakefield Band Boosters, Wolverine Club, FFA, and FCCLA. Wakefield students from a variety of honor societies and clubs volunteer to work before, during, and after the show – preparing, promoting, setting up, day-of duties, and taking down. Over 100 students are involved during this time, and they have a great reputation for being courteous and helpful with both vendors and shoppers. Students are instrumental in helping to transform the first floor commons area and both gymnasiums into the Jingle Bell Jazz, Winter Wonderland, Sleigh Bells, and Deck The Halls experience. Reindeer Run, in which vendors exhibited outdoors, was added in 2013. Mistletoe Market profits go directly into the programs of the PTSA like staff luncheons for 200+, student scholarships, departmental grants, Lamp of Knowledge academic awards, PRIDE and AIM student awards, faculty and staff appreciation week, and parent programs.

How is everyone going with the winter weather prep? I went to the store to buy celery and ground turkey (not exactly winter weather storm prep items, but I needed them). Could not believe there wasn't even a solitary stalk or any ground meat to be found after visiting two stores (OK, my son DID manage to get the last packet of ground chicken when he ventured out for me). Hope everyone is luckier than me and getting what they need!
Keep warm - and safe!

Hello everyone! I can't believe we are nearly halfway through January!!! Hopefully you all had a wonderful winter break and had lots of opportunities to showcase your wonderful products!
What is something you are all looking forward to this year?

I am back home after spending nearly 2.5 hours or so at Holly Days - and can you believe that l still didn't make it everywhere properly or talk to all of you😭. I think l have a communication problem. Over communication 🤣. In retrospect, l probably should have tried going tomorrow rather than rushing through this afternoon. Oh well. I felt almost incognito without my red apron and large camera (but that didn't stop me taking photos, which l am including in this post!). Anyway, all this to say it was lovely to catch up with those of you that l did (unfortunately too briefly towards the end) - apologies to those l didn't, and l can't wait to see you at Mistletoe Market next year! It was also fun meeting some new people - including another Aussie who came to me when she heard my accent, lol.

Best wishes to our Mistletoe Market vendors who will be at Holly Days this weekend (and to our friends who run the event)! May the weather be fair and the shoppers be out in force!
Forgot to add - let me know in the comments where you will be located, so I can stop and visit/shop (I am going to do my best to attend).

MISTLETOE MARKET 2026!
Next year's event will be on November 14, 2026 (I know it seems late, but it's always the second Saturday in November)
To make sure no one misses application dates for next year's Mistletoe Market we have decided to announce the dates for both returning and new vendors now (we realized returning vendors already know the application date as it was in the setup email).
RETURNING VENDORS:
JULY 13, 2026 8:00 AM - JULY 15, 2026 11:59 PM
Application for returning vendors will open on July 13 at 8:00 AM and close on July 15 at 11:59 PM.
NEW VENDORS (plus returning vendors missed missed first application window)
JULY 20, 2026 8AM - JULY 22, 2026 11:59PM
Application for new vendors and returning vendors who did not get a chance to apply in the first round, will open on July 20 at 8:00 AM, and close on July 22 at 11:59 PM.
We will keep applications open for three days this year in each round, as we noticed having a two day period last year was definitely helpful for vendors, and three would actually have been more helpful.

* Updated to include link to Customer Survey form in this post.
Thank you so much to all 103 vendors who have responded to our feedback survey so far! We understand completing surveys can be frustrating, but I promise you that they are very helpful to us.
We have been looking at the individual responses closely, and have started to do some analysis of the results. In particular, we are noting aspects that worked and didn't work (and those that were unfortunately outside of our control).
If anyone would like to contact us directly with concerns raised, we are more than happy to discuss them with you and encourage you to do so. We appreciate learning each year and coming back with a (hopefully) improved event the following year!
At the end of the survey period (this Sunday), we may reach out to some of you for more clarifications (and/or provide you with responses to issues raised), in those cases where you shared your contact information.
Thank you for being the best vendors and shoppers we could hope to have!

It's Vendor and Customer Feedback time!
Please find below two links - one for Vendor Feedback and one for Customer Feedback. I will also email the link to vendors, but wanted to get it out there! We would love to get responses by Sunday, November 23rd, but happy to have your feedback sooner!
Next in the series of "What vendor did Rosemary miss photographing because she was too slow, but her son purchased an item from them":-). I present some salts from Non's Salts. My sweet Junior used yet more of his birthday money on me at this particular vendor, as he thought I would like it. Thanks Matthew - I am sure I will!

I have just realized that even though I actually went to Cream & Crumble Cheesecakes LLC, I didn't take a photo as I was called away as Mr. Bazzell had been spotted, and then I took him to the booth - but forgot I had not taken a photo!!! Here is a photo of my purchases: Oreo, Banana Pudding and Bailey's Espresso. All phenomenally good and enjoyed by my family!

UPDATE: i think the shelving unit belongs to Reflect Boutique, but still waiting to work out the owners of the bags!
Hi everyone, we had two items left behind and were wondering who they belonged to. The first is a small open stand shelving unit and the second is a box of 15 or do gift bags. Please reach out if they are yours!

And finally after many failed attempts, photos for all sections have been posted! I have not commented on all photos as I was concerned every time I did that and ended up losing the album, but I will try and go back and do so when I get a chance. Feel free to tag yourselves and your businesses in the photos! I hope you enjoy relieving the experience and seeing it through my eyes.
I did the best I could to capture the wonderful vendors in Sleigh Bells Ring, but there was only so much I could do in the final few minutes of the market and then when it was time to start breaking things down. I am so sad I didn't get to spend time here, as there were many vendors I love to see each year and I was looking forward to meeting our new ones. Next year I am going to try start here first I think.
