The North Carolina Department of Transportation’s (NCDOT) Wildflower Program is wildly popular among the pollinators and people of North Carolina!🐝🌷πŸͺ»

Lindsay Dodson is working with NCDOT to develop technology that can help them plant in a more precise and efficient way.

Current practices to plant designs involve staking and planting by hand to achieve the desired design. Dodson’s work aims to streamline this process so that NCDOT can continue beautifying our NC roadsides!πŸ›£οΈ

Where can an NC State engineering degree take you? For Victoria Wright (’24), it led straight to the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania. 🌍

After four years of studying Biological and Agricultural Engineering, Victoria traded the familiar classrooms of Weaver Labs for a two-year service with the Peace Corps.

Today, she is living and teaching at the base of Mount Kilimanjaro, using her passion for education and adventure to make a global difference.πŸ”οΈ

"I keep reflecting on the mental strength it takes to get an engineering degree from NC State. I always remind myself that I graduated with an engineering degree, so I can do hard things," Wright says.

We recently caught up with Victoria to discuss her unique post-graduate journey and what it's like teaching abroad.

The BAE department just added two brand-new, methane-powered tractors from New Holland Agriculture to our fleet! πŸšœπŸ’¨

By running on compressed natural gas, these tractors create a closed-loop, circular agricultural system that minimizes emissions by turning manure into energy to cultivate crops. 🌾

Our faculty members are incredibly excited to bring this cutting-edge technology directly into our research projects and classrooms. πŸ”¬πŸŽ“
