Earlier this month, ITRE hosted the Drug Impaired Driving Summit in partnership with the NC Governor's Highway Safety Program and NC Conference of District Attorneys. The Summit provided training for NC law enforcement in recognizing and enforcing drug-impaired driving.

We recently celebrated the graduation of our Fall 2024 Highway Engineering Concepts (HEC) and Fundamental Engineering Principles (FEP) classes. This cohort of North Carolina Department of Transportation personnel is largely based in Western NC, and persevered through major disruptions from Hurricane Helene to complete these rigorous programs. NCDOT Partnering with ITRE to Map Unmarked Burial Sites : Institute for Transportation Research and Education RALEIGH – The N.C. Department of Transportation announced a partnership with N.C. State University’s Institute for Transportation Research and Education to conduct groundbreaking research aimed at mapping unmarked burial sites belonging to historically marginalized groups.
