Congratulations Rachel! Another great Meredith College educator!

Congratulations to Rachel Heavlin, a first-year kindergarten teacher at Hortons Creek Elementary in Cary!

After entering a Crayola contest she found on social media, Rachel was selected as 1 of 24 winners nationwide. Courtesy of Crayola and Walmart, the school was gifted $1000 of Crayola supplies and $3000 of Walmart gift cards to spend on a teachers lounge makeover.

The annual Wetonah Rice Parker Teaching Symposium welcomed a large crowd of educators and Dr. Parker herself! Dr. Emily King‘s excellent presentation, Strategies to Support the Executive Functioning and Emotional Regulation of Neurodivergent Learners, was well received, and Percy Davis-Chapman’s catering was five star!

Advance Meredith was a great success in part to our impressive panel of graduates including Strong Teacher Maritza Yanez! She represented the Education Department so well!
