Have you ever had your plans interrupted in a way that changed everything? 👀

In 1 Corinthians 12, Paul is talking about spiritual gifts (something the Corinthians were obsessed with) but then he interrupts himself with what we now call the “love chapter.” In 1 Corinthians 13, Paul lays a foundation that completely reframes the conversation: power, gifting, talent, and even Spirit-empowerment mean nothing without love.

This chapter gets read at weddings all the time, but it’s not about marriage, it’s about the Church. It’s about how the gifts of the Spirit are empty if they aren’t rooted in the very character of God.

Love isn’t sentimental or optional. It’s the core virtue of the Christian life because God is love, and we are being formed into the image of Jesus. The gifts are temporary. Love is eternal. If we chase the gifts but miss love, we’ve missed the point.

This week, we’re getting in the lab to ask the hard questions: Does my life actually look like the love Paul describes? Is there room in me to love others like that? What would it look like to grow in love this week? Come ready to reflect, discuss, and be stretched. Bring a friend. You won’t want to miss this.
