The Cellular and Molecular Imaging Facility at North Carolina State University is a light microscopy core serving NCSU and beyond.

The Cellular and Molecular Imaging Facility at North Carolina State University contains a number of state-of-the-art light microscopes, including a Zeiss LSM 710 confocal system and a Zeiss Z.1 lightsheet microscope purchased in 2013. CMIF primarily serves the NC State community and is also open to scientists from other universities and local industries.

Congratulations to Rozalynne Samira for winning the third prize in the Life Science category of the prestigious 11th Graduate Research Symposium held at the McKimmon Center, NC State University on March 24, 2016. She is a 5th year PhD candidate of the Plant and Microbial Biology Department, NCSU and currently working under the supervision of Dr.Terri Long. She is also the President of Plant Biology Graduate Student Association.

We have another exciting seminar in the "Allen Distinguished Microscopy" series this Wednesday (4/27/16) 11:30 am at the Hunt Library Auditorium. Dr. Scott Fraser from USC, LA presents his research on " Sensing and imaging the molecular signatures of embodied cells." His lab has a special interest in live imaging applications in the development of several animal model species, including insects, fish, amphibians, and avian species. Dr. Fraser is currently Provost Professor and Director of Science Initiatives at USC.
