Here’s a student spotlight.

During the month of June, Wake Tech's Refugee Outreach Literacy Program is sharing stories about our amazing students who are refugees, asylees, or Special Immigrant Visa holders in recognition of World Refugee Day. This week's featured student is Maliha Ahrari from Afghanistan!

During this time of giving thanks for the things we have, it is important to remember that there are many who have much less. With the colder months upon us, many people lack the the essentials they need to keep warm. There is something you can do to help.

The Refugee Outreach Literacy Project (ROLP) will be holding a Fall Coat Drive for the refugee community and for those in need in the Raleigh area. Gently used winter items such as coats, hats, and gloves are being accepted now through December 10th.

You can drop off your donations at the Beltline Education Center.

Did you know that we have one of the largest ESL programs in the state? One of our greatest stories of 2020 comes from Sadock Mbalo Sadock, an ESL student who is also studying in our Nurse Aide program. He recently interviewed for four jobs as a Home Health Aide and is likely to receive multiple offers. He was a nurse for twenty years in Africa and worked for "Doctors without Borders."
