We held a Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene Boot Camp on campus yesterday and here is one of our attendees! He volunteered to demonstrate the aerosols that occur in the dental environment and PPE needed. He had extra protection on to make a point and was a great sport! Boot camps are 4 hours long and allow participants a chance to get hands-on experience to see what the dental environment is like - polish on a typodont, see how to take an x-ray, take an impression on a typodont, use the iTero scanner, scale a tooth on a manikin, etc. We offer one camp each semester (approximately mid-October, mid-March, mid-June).
