It’s Fall Y’all!!! When it comes to leaf peeping, typically the most vibrant colors are near the water, and some of the best spots to explore include:

🍁Umstead State Park
🍁Falls of Neuse River Trail
🍁Lake Johnson
🍁Jordan Lake
🍁Falls Lake State Recreation Area
🍁E. Carroll Joyner Park (Wake Forest)
🍁Eno River State Park (Durham)
🍁Bond Lake
🍁Apex Lake

No matter how you choose to see fall leaves, make a memory your kids will enjoy by adding an activity to your drive. Whatever you do, get out and enjoy a beautiful fall.

Why is Being Present Minded Important?

Being present minded is the key to staying healthy and happy. It helps you fight anxiety, cut down on your worrying, and keeps you grounded and connected to yourself and everything around you.

Parenting can be stressful—and it’s hard to feel “zen” when you are constantly overwhelmed or feeling anxious. Need extra support? Try these tips for supporting your own mindfulness.

⏰Give your child 15 minutes of your time before starting on something that is going to need your attention for a while, such as making dinner. Let your child know that you can play together for 15 minutes, then you need to start dinner, make a phone call, clip the dog’s toenails…

🧘🏻‍♀️Take 5 minutes every day to just breathe, meditate, stretch…whatever it is that clears and calms your head.

🏃‍♀️Get moving. Exercise, whether solo or with your family, is a great way to de-stress, and boost energy levels. Pack up the kids and go to the park, or walk around the block.

Can’t get enough!!! How should I introduce my older child to his or her new sibling? When the new baby arrives, have a family member or friend bring your child to the hospital or birth center for a brief visit. Allow another loved one to hold the baby for a while so that both parents can give the older child plenty of cuddles.

Consider the following tips to help your child adjust.

❣️Children younger than age 2. Young children likely won't understand yet what it means to have a new sibling. Talk to your child about the new addition to your family. Look at picture books about babies and families.

❣️Children ages 2 to 4. Children at this age are still quite attached to their parents and might feel jealous sharing your attention with a newborn. Explain that the baby will need lots of attention and encourage your older child's involvement by taking him or her shopping for baby supplies. Read to your older child about babies, brothers and sisters. Give your older child a doll so that he or she can be a caregiver, too. Look at your older child's baby pictures together and tell the story of his or her birth.

🙌❤️🌟A heartfelt thank you note to a nanny shows your gratitude for their demanding dedication, contribution, work, and responsibility when taking care of your children. Look at a gratitude note that one of our nannies received, during National Nanny Recognition Week. It meant the world to her and her cup was full of gratitude!

A Meraki client:

Dear Christine,

Just a note to let you know how much we appreciate the care you’re providing to our children.

Many nannies might see their role as simply to meet the physical needs of the kids and ensure the children’s safety while under their supervision. You, on the other hand, have shown so many kindnesses and provided the kids with attention, understanding and FUN, which all encourage the kids’ mental growth and emotional development: the “art” projects, the games, the snacks, the story times — all these extra activities require supplies and extra time for preparation and clean-up, not to mention patience. I know you know the kids appreciate you, and I want you to know that I appreciate you, too.

Thanks so much for all your extra efforts with our children; when they’re happy, we’re happy.

Cordially,

John and Pam

❣️👶 🙋🏻‍♀️🧚‍♀️For nannies, InterNational Nanny Recognition Week is a time to celebrate the wonderful work they do and the difference they make in the lives of the children in their care and the families whom they serve.

For nannies employers, InterNational Nanny Recognition Week is a time to show their nanny just how much they appreciate her and the contribution she makes to their family.

Here are 5 ways that you can recognize and show appreciation to your nanny!

1. Give a gift card to her favorite store.

2. Meet a need she has expressed she needs or would like to do.

3. Surprise her with a paid day off or cash bonus.

4. Pay for professional development or nanny membership.

5. Spa day! Who doesn’t love a relaxing spa treatment.

And just remember to add a homemade card because there’s nothing cuter than a child’s drawing or handwriting!

Sending much love to all the Moms and Dads today on National Rainbow Baby Day. ❤️🌈

Although rainbow babies represent joy after a devastating storm, many women expecting a rainbow baby struggle with mixed emotions including worry, excitement, fear, and hope. If this is true for you, it may help to talk to your healthcare provider or a therapist.

You can celebrate your rainbow baby and honor your loss: Consider writing your angel baby's story or establishing an annual "angelversary," as well as participating in National Rainbow Baby Day.

If you are still waiting for your rainbow, we hope this day fills you with hope and allows you to connect with others who have been where you are. We are here to support and love on you.

If you have your rainbow, help us celebrate! Share this post, comment below and continue sharing photos and stories use the hashtag .

August is Breastfeeding Awareness Month. There is something that comes along with becoming a mother that is much less obvious than the lack of sleep, post-baby muffin top, and the serious love affair you’ve started with this beautiful little baby and that is: GUILT.

Some women are able to breastfeed; some are not. Some have to try really hard and eventually find success; some have to go back to work; and sometimes it just doesn’t work out. It doesn’t matter what the reasons are that a woman doesn’t breastfeed. For the advised time. We support your decision. Breastfeeding your baby is a beautiful thing, no doubt, but for some women it just isn’t all that natural.

Just know, if you’ve chosen to stop breastfeeding or not to breastfeed at all, you’re not alone.
