About Us:
Soapstone Preschool is a ministry of Soapstone United Methodist Church offering genuine love and care to children and families in a safe, nurturing Christian environment. We believe every child is special and we strive to help them grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, physically, and mentally. Learning is fostered through age-appropriate learning centers and hands-on activities that

encourage positive socialization with teachers and peers. Parent involvement is vital and we welcome them as partners in our preschool family. Our History:
Soapstone Preschool began in 1991 as a cooperative Mother’s Morning Out program one day a week. Over the past twenty years, the preschool has grown and evolved. Currently there are 12 classes with 104 children enrolled and a staff of 20. We are looking forward to the 2021-2022 school year as we serve our church and community. It’s exciting to watch our program grow throughout the years and to realize how much God has richly blessed this church with the ministry for young children.

Whether this is your first drop off or your fifth, we hope you will join us for the First Day Cafe. We could all use a little extra love on the first day! 💕

Walking your preschooler in?🚶🏼‍♀️ After walking them to their room, head back to the main church hallway. You will see signs directing you upstairs.

Dropping off in carpool?🚗 Parking in the front lot will likely be limited. So after your child has been unloaded, loop around and park in the back. Come in the door that faces the field. There will be signs directing you upstairs.

Fill and Spill! It can be frustrating as a parent, but it really serves a purpose! When children interact with the world around them, in sometimes unexpected ways, it creates more opportunities for brain growth and learning! Kids' brains are amazing 💜

We are all so excited to get back to school!
As much as our little ones love coming to school, transitions and big changes can sometimes be hard. For children who are new to Soapstone Preschool, there are lots of unfamiliar faces. And for returning students, it can sometimes be a surprise to discover they have a new teacher and different classmates.

Spending time in our school spaces in the days before we begin can help ease those first-day jitters. I hope you’ll join us on Sunday, August 30 at 12:15 PM for a Popsicle Playdate on the Preschool Playground!

We will have plenty of popsicles to share! Feel free to pack a picnic lunch and stay a while. We can’t wait to see all of our wonderful families there!
