It’s funny to be so excited about the weekend when all the days have been running together for so many of us. It was a very busy week for Learning by Experience, though!
I am grateful to be able to transition all students to online appointments with ease, to work from home, and to be able to support students and families in this trying time.

While volunteering with Second Chance Adoptions, we got to meet a bunch of adorable pups who were out to see the Durham Bulls baseball game with their owners.
Our role was to hang out with said pups while their people went to get food & drink. There was some rain, but the game went on & the pups didn’t mind. They still hopped in the pool!

Having completed the Mordecai House & Gardens Tour and The Great Raleigh Trolley prior, we were excited to build upon our understanding of the rich history of this city we love. Onward we go this summer to the other listed sites! 🕵️♀️🔎🏙

Saturday study sessions at Hunt Library are a favorite for LBE high schoolers. After a quick tour we hunker down into a student selected spot to knock out some weekend work. The space itself inspires productivity!

Today we explored and considered basketball as an art form in our culture through the exhibit Above the Rim, hosted by the City Art Museum (CAM Raleigh).

”Through the language of art, Above the Rim examines the multifaceted nature of basketball and the magnitude of its impact on our world. By using basketball as a storytelling device, [an] international group of artists [address] specific elements within the sport while also examining a variety of sociopolitical issues.”
