A bunch of great MVAP news to celebrate this spring. Please join us in congratulating our students and staff on their achievements!

- Dr. Brooke Norton ('19, '22, '23 staff) has just graduated with her PhD in Near Eastern Studies from UC Berkeley!
- Anusha Khansaheb ('19 student) has graduated with her MS in Historic Preservation from UPenn!
- Noah Barton ('22 student) will be returning to NC State to do an MA in History!
- Olivia Fiser ('22 student) is headed off to UChicago for an MA in the MAPH program!
- Lara Rabinowitz ('19 student) is starting her MFA in Textiles at the California College of the Arts!
- Olivia Schladt ('22 student) is continuing on at NC State to pursue an MSc in Geoarchaeology and Geomorphology!
- Hannah Smith ('23 staff and '22 student) and Cordelia Jones ('23 student) are both going to the University of Edinburgh to pursue MA degrees in Archaeology!
- Adam Wampler ('22 student) will be starting an MPhil in Holocene Climates at Cambridge!

Another bit of good news! 2022 field school student Dylan Chiraini will be starting an MA in Archaeology at Durham University in the fall. Congrats, Dylan!

Delighted to share that long-time team MVAP member Thomas Goodwin will be headed to the University of Texas at Austin this fall to pursue an MS in Historic Preservation! Thomas has been with us every season since 2018. He started as a field school student and is now a supervisor. We are delighted to have him joining us again this summer, and thrilled for his new path in historic preservation. Congrats Thomas!

We have selected our student team members and are gearing up for the 2023 season, starting June 1. Excited to get back to Makounta!

Several of our MVAP Field School alums are headed off to graduate school this fall! Alice Kligerman is headed to Florida State to pursue an MA in Anthropology. Laura Smith is going to Indiana University to get a PhD in History. Katherine McVay is off to Duke to do a PhD in Evolutionary Anthropology. Cas Saroza will be doing an MLS in Library Science at UNC Chapel Hill. Congrats to you all!
