🌟 CNA Spotlight: Andrew 🌟

Andrew has always believed he was meant to help others, and that calling is evident in the compassionate care he provides every day. Andrew states that he loves creating moments of happiness for our participants, moments that may be fleeting for them but will stay with him forever.

As one of our newer CNAs, Andrew is proud of how much he has grown in both his skills and confidence. His dedication to learning and providing exceptional care has made him a valued member. The connections he has built with both participants and coworkers are what make coming to work each day so meaningful.

Tatum, Activity Director, states “it has been a joy to see Andrew grow his awesome skills and comfortability in his role as activity assistant and CNA. He has a bright future ahead of him, go Seahawks!”

When he’s not caring for others or sporting an injury, you’ll find Andrew at the gym or enjoying long walks with his fiancée and their dog.

✨ CNA Spotlight: Melissa ✨

Melissa wears many hats at SarahCare, spending most of her day doing activities while always stepping in as a CNA whenever needed. Her passion for caring for others shines through in everything she does.

What Melissa enjoys most about her job is “keeping the participants happy and active,” and her heart for service is evident in the way she connects with both participants and families. She was inspired to work in this field because she loves “caring for others who can’t do for themselves.”

Melissa says what makes her role especially meaningful is being able to give families a much-needed break while improving the quality of life and comfort of participants as they navigate dementia. One accomplishment she is especially proud of is building connections with participants and helping them feel comfortable and cared for each day.

Marcia, Owner and Executive Director, states “her willingness to pitch in at anytime and her enthusiasm to plan and carry out our fun-themed days makes her shine.”

Outside of work, Melissa is passionate about making sure her children are happy and loved.

🌟 CNA Week Employee Spotlight Mary🌟

This CNA Week, we are proud to recognize Mary. Mary has been part of the SarahCare team for 8 years, but caring for others much longer. Since 1987, Mary has dedicated her life to caring for others, inspired by helping family members and friends through illness and difficult times. ❤️

What Mary enjoys most about SarahCare is caring for her participants by bringing comfort, kindness, and care to those who need it most.

When asked what makes this work special, Mary shared that seeing the smiles on people’s faces and knowing she made a difference makes her job special.

One accomplishment that Mary is proud of at SarahCare is being a “jack of all trades”. Mary is often seen transporting participants, stocking supplies, doing FMP, leading dance parties and putting curls in the hair of female participants.

Leigh, RN had this to say about Mary. “I have had the privilege of working alongside Mary for almost 20 years, and throughout that time she has consistently been one of my most dependable and trusted team members. Her dedication and willingness to step in wherever needed makes her one of my go-to people. She cares deeply for our participants and their families. Mary’s work ethic leaves a lasting impact on everyone around her. We are truly fortunate to have her as part of our team.”

Outside of work, Mary loves spending time with her grandchildren and helping keep her parents’ memories alive in her heart.

🌟 CNA Spotlight Kim🌟

For National CNA Week, we are proud to spotlight one of our compassionate caregivers who truly leads with love and kindness every day.

“I love helping people!” Those simple words perfectly describe the heart behind Kim’s work. She shares that by
making someone else’s life a little better and easier is what she enjoys most about being a CNA, “ there is joy in making others happy.”

Kim’s passion for caregiving began in 2004 when her grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. Returning home to care for her grandmother inspired her to dedicate her life to helping others.

 Kim shines as the art teacher. She comes up with appropriate, meaningful and extremely fun activities for the participants to do in the art room. Kim states that this is very rewarding.

Outside of work, she is passionate about her family, friends, and spreading love and kindness to others. She believes people should treat others the way they want to be treated — with compassion, care, and kindness.

Tatum, Activity Director had this to say about Kim, “ I love Kim’s infectious smile and laugh. Cheers to many more dances and singing songs together. Thank you for all you do, you’re caring heart shows every day through your interactions with our participants and in the meaningful activities you facilitate each and every day. We love you, Kimberlina!”

For National CNA Week, we are honored to celebrate the compassionate hearts behind the care.

Our CNAs do so much more than provide assistance, they provide comfort, dignity, encouragement, friendship, and love. They are the familiar faces, helping hands, and calming presence that mean so much to our residents and families each day.
