For the first two weeks, Micah Hawthorne stayed after every class. 💻
He didn't come from an IT background, and in the Cyber Warrior Program, that meant playing catch-up. So every day, he talked with his instructors for an hour after class. He studied whenever he wasn't doing something else. He took notes on everything.
And then, around day 14, it started to click.
Micah came to MyComputerCareer through the DoD SkillBridge program after years in the military as a fueler and hazmat truck driver. He'd hit the ceiling of what that role could offer, and he was ready for something more. The Cyber Warrior Program's reputation drew him in, but it was how much the team cared that made him stay.
Four certifications later (A+, Net+, Security+, and CySA+), he landed a career in IT at Dell Technologies. When it came time to write his resume, his Career Services advisor turned it into the best one he'd ever had.
His biggest piece of advice: "If you don't give up, you never fail. If you give up, that's the only time you actually fail."
