Trying to put into words what these young people mean to me is almost impossible. They have pushed me as a conductor, teacher and person. These kids make me so excited for the future of our world because of their kindness, thoughtfulness and love. This year's class of 8th grade chorus students have been with the Ligon Chorus program through three of the biggest performances of my career. They consistently received the highest remarks and compliments from adjudicators and audience members. Not only do I hear about their beautiful musicianship, but their kindness towards others, their polite behavior to other adults and their professionalism.

Singers, thank you for sharing your voices with our chorus family and our Ligon community.

Families, thank you for your continued support and helping our singers pursue this beautiful art of choral singing. We literally could not do it without you.

I tried to catch all 33 of them after today's moving up ceremonies, but a few slipped by 😉

One of my favorite projects of the year: Concert Lyric Illustrations! Students chose a lyric from one of their concert pieces to incorporate into their Illustrations to show the deeper meaning of the text. Check out some of our favorites this year!

Today, our Vocal Ensemble section leaders and student conductor passed the torch to next year's music leadership team!

Not only am I proud of the work these leaders have put in this year, I love how excited they are for their fellow singers! 💙💛

I promised no more tears after the concert, but this was super sweet. 🥹
