Our Fall Transforming Leaders cohort has begun! A sold-out room and 3.5 months of deep growth in trust-building, handling conflict, and adaptive leadership - all geared to help supervisors and team leaders grow to the next level of impact in their organizations.

We’re excited to see how each participant puts these new skills, frameworks, and competencies into practice - both during the program and after graduation.

“On October 23rd, my father checked into the emergency room at Duke Regional Hospital. He passed away on October 25th. The days leading up to and the week after my father’s passing were one of the busiest times of my career. Preparing for the CIAA Football Championship, NCAA DI Field Hockey Championship, the Garmin Marathon Series, the announcement of the AUSL/Carolina Blaze and Durham Athletic Park presentation to the Mayor and Durham City Council. I had to adapt, adjust and press forward. What did I really want to do? Press the pause button.”

Introducing our ninth storyteller for The Flame: Marcus Manning

Marcus will be sharing his story, entitled “14 Days of Leadership” alongside 8 other Goodmon Fellows.

The Flame will be held on October 7th, 7pm-9pm. Get your ticket today!

“She knew I was planning something, but dementia prevented her from formulating the questions she needed to mount a logical defense. Even so, she sensed the coming change. My mother was a pianist, and throughout those days there was one question she asked over and over again: “Can we at least take my piano?” Finally, I brought her home with me, and an intense new journey began. The combativeness, the stubbornness, the resistance to change all appeared in ways I had never experienced before. It was then that I realized a season of life had ended and a new era had begun. My mother had always taken care of me. Now it was my turn to take care of her.”

Introducing our eighth storyteller for The Flame: Lydia Dudley

Lydia will be sharing her story, entitled “Celebrate what Remains” alongside 8 other Goodmon Fellows.

You can’t book this trip on any app.

During Leadership Triangle’s Regional Program, we curate singular opportunities to go onsite and behind the scenes with some of our region’s most impactful companies, nonprofits, and Universities. Take a tour of Durham Technical Community College with its President, JB Buxton, and learn how community colleges and leaders in life science are creating pathways to economic mobility. Spend a day onsite at Healing Transitions - with a resident-led tour of the facility, hearing a story of recovery while sharing lunch with someone on the path of sobriety. Join local entrepreneurs as they discuss cleantech innovation across the region.

Not just a walkthrough - but a deep dive - from the people making ideas a reality in the region.

The Priority Application Deadline for Leadership Triangle’s 2027 Regional Leadership Program is TODAY, August 31. Get those applications in!

“Being a native New Yorker who moved to the Triangle during the pandemic, it was quite difficult for me to learn about the important matters of the region. It was equally as challenging for me to meet people with different careers and different backgrounds who also were thoughtful about the lives we are living in this region. The Leadership Triangle Regional program gave me everything I had been searching for and hoping to develop for the past 5 years in a matter of weeks. Participating in this program was the best decision I’ve made since moving to North Carolina.” - La Shell Wooten, LMSW, CMSW, Regional’26 Goodmon Fellow

If you’re new to the region and seeking to build your professional community, the Regional Program is for you.

The Priority Application Deadline is Monday, August 31st. We strongly recommend applying by the priority deadline to ensure your spot in the 2027 cohort.

“I had spent decades working in global pharmaceutical research, helping move medicines through clinical development. I understood protocols, data, risk, and the language of disease. Then breast cancer turned me from scientist into patient. I faced the treatment, rebuilt my life, and believed I had made it through, only for the cancer to return within two years. This time, knowledge could not protect me. There was no protocol for the fear that followed me home, no spreadsheet that could calculate how much faith I had left, and no prompt that could tell me how to live when the future I had assumed was no longer guaranteed.”

Introducing our seventh storyteller for The Flame: Barbara Jacqueline Jeter

Jacqueline will be sharing her story, entitled “Nothing Artificial About This Survival” alongside 8 other Goodmon Fellows.

The Flame will be held on October 7th, 7pm-9pm. Get your ticket today!

“I am a Ta**us down to the marrow. Creature of habit, worshipper of routine, lover of all things cozy and comfy. Change, for me, has never been an invitation. It has always been a hostile takeover. So naturally, the universe handed me all of it at once. In the span of one unrelenting stretch, I got divorced, sold the company I built from nothing, sold a home I genuinely loved, said goodbye to friendships that had shaped decades of my life, left my family, and packed up everything to leave Texas for good. Not one of these was a small ask. Together, they were an earthquake.”

Introducing our sixth storyteller for The Flame: Anjanette Miller

Anjanette will be sharing her story, entitled “Everything, All At Once, On Purpose” alongside 8 other Goodmon Fellows.

The Flame will be held on October 7th, 7pm-9pm. Get your ticket today!

“’I told my wife that if I survived this new role, I would become the kind of social worker I aspired to be.’ My first week as the Director of a permanent supportive apartment complex went great, until Friday. There was a fight with major injuries and EMS, police onsite nearly arrested someone, a surprise VIP tour, Residents bombarding me with questions, staff unsure of new procedures, and the lead case manager’s knee popped out of its socket. All of this happened before lunchtime.”

Introducing our second storyteller for The Flame: Chris AV Pearson!

Chris will be sharing his story, entitled “That Wasn’t on My Bingo Card” alongside 8 other Goodmon Fellows.
