Raleigh High School is excited to welcome Mercideas Wilson as our new Self-Contained Life Skills Teacher!

Mrs. Wilson brings a strong background in nursing, health science education, and student support to RHS. Her passion for education and helping prepare the next generation of healthcare professionals will be a great addition to our school community.

We are excited to have Mrs. Wilson join the Lion family and look forward to a great year ahead!

Raleigh High School is proud to welcome Dr. James Page as our new Head Boys Basketball Coach!

A proud RHS graduate, Dr. Page returns home with seven years of experience in education, teaching World History, AP Government & Politics, and Economics. He also serves his community as pastor of Leaf River Baptist Church and as an alderman for the Town of Taylorsville.

“A proud RHS graduate, I am honored to return home and invest in the next generation of students and athletes.”

We are excited to have Coach Page back at Raleigh High School and look forward to his leadership of the Lions basketball program!

Congratulations to Jay Young, Raleigh High School’s attendance winner from last week! Young received a $25 gift card, generously donated by Dupré Farms!

🦁 WELCOME TO THE PRIDE! 🦁

Please join us in welcoming Mr. Trey Johnson to Raleigh High School as our new Agriculture Instructor and FFA Advisor! 🌾

Mr. Johnson is entering his fourth year in education after spending the past three years as an Agriculture Instructor and FFA Advisor with the Chickasaw County School District. During his career, he was recognized as the North Mississippi Rookie Agriculture Teacher of the Year in 2024 and has received numerous other professional awards for his dedication to agricultural education and student success.

Mr. Johnson is married to his wife, Katie, a third-grade elementary teacher in Madison County. Together, they share a passion for education and serving students.

As he begins his time at Raleigh High School, Mr. Johnson’s vision for the agriculture program includes:

🌾 Increasing community involvement and service opportunities
📚 Expanding agricultural course offerings
🙌 Growing student participation
🛠️ Continuing to build the resources needed to provide students with meaningful, hands-on learning experiences

Mr. Johnson is excited to become part of the Raleigh community and looks forward to working with students, parents, faculty, and community members to grow the agriculture program and create new opportunities for Raleigh FFA.

Mrs. Luckey is beginning her 18th year in education and is excited to get to know her students and their families while making this school year a great one.

Outside of school, she enjoys reading, listening to true crime podcasts, and spending time with her children, grandchildren, and pets.

🏈 GAME WEEK: Smith County Jamboree! 🏈

The Smith County School District invites our students, families, and community members to Tartar Field in Taylorsville on Friday, August 21, 2026, for the Smith County Jamboree.

The event will feature both JV and varsity competition, with Mize, Raleigh, and Taylorsville representing Smith County, alongside teams from Collins, Lumberton, Scott Central, Jim Hill, and West Marion.

We encourage our community to come out and support our student-athletes as they prepare for the upcoming football season.
