"Peer feedback shows students the value of thinking in stages, from the uncertainty of rough drafts to the solidity of a completed work. It reminds students that theyβre writing for readers, not themselves. And ongoing feedback throughout college busts the myth that a single first-year writing course is the beginning and end of prose development. "
How peer feedback can improve student writing skills - eCampus News If students leave campus without refined writing skills, weβve done them a disservice--peer feedback plays a critical role in strong writing.

Our Tutor Spotlight this week is Maggie Best! Maggie is studying Exercise and Sports Science with a Concentration in Health and Wellness and a minor in Dance. She will be graduating this May.
My favorite part about being a tutor is seeing that lightbulb click in my tutee's brain when they understand what I am discussing with them and the excitement it brings me to help them get there.
I decided to become a tutor because I love learning, it happens to be my top strength. I love discussing things I have learned with others. I also love the environment of the Learning Center, it is so welcoming and brings me so much joy.
My plans after graduation are currently up in the air, like many things due to the pandemic. I plan to take a gap year before going to graduate school for possibly Exercise Physiology or Dance Medicine. I will hopefully be doing some teaching in fitness or dance in Raleigh as I figure out what I would like my career to look like.
Fun fact: I am a big ice hockey fan!
Best organization tip: Google Calendar or paper planners are your best friend!
Favorite quote/book/movie: Right now my top 2 favorite shows are Stranger Things and Queen's Gambit.
If I could live in any time period, I'd have to say the 1960s or 1970s. I would have definitely participated in marches for civil rights and roller skating at the disco/roller rink. I love the fashion and all the music for those decades.
