Want to see some more student work? Today’s student feature is Amanda Bass , who is currently in Jj Love’s 2D design class. Gotta give the students huge props for their hard work this unusual semester but it doesn’t appear to be hindering their ability to create really fabulous artwork. Great Job Amanda!

This is a painting by Nicholas June, a current painting student in the online Art 240 class. We are so thrilled to see how well our students are doing with the online learning. It isn’t how many of them envisioned growing their artistic skills but they are doing some amazing work. Registration for spring semester is right around the corner. Are you joining us for classes? What are you excited to take in the spring? Grab your spot as quickly as you can, ART classes tend to fill up quickly.

Mixed media experiments will be happening soon for painting I students. This is first layer on a few demo pieces where students will experiment with collage, textural painting, masking, stencils and varied approaches to building a painting. We focus a good bit on observational painting but threading in some other expressive approaches is always useful to help students work towards their own expressive language.

Hope you have a great weekend. Take some time away from the computer - it will be worth it. .

We will have regular celebration of student work. We have amazing students and want to recognize their hard work, especially considering the remote learning mode we are in. This is Hannah Regan’s piece from K. Murray’s 2D design. Swipe to see the scale of this project, completed in only one week. We love to see students run with their creativity and apply their experience from the class while also exploring ways to show their own expressive voice.
