The 2025–2026 school year is officially in the books! 🎉 We are so incredibly proud of all the amazing memories our students and staff made this year.

To our rising 6th and 7th graders: We can't wait to see you back in the fall! 🐎

To our departing 8th graders: Best of luck in high school—you will always be part of the Mustang herd!

And just like that, the end-of-year celebrations have officially begun! We kicked off our final week with the 8th Grade Dance last Friday! Our students brought out their energy, their style, and plenty of moves to the dance floor. We are going to miss our amazing 8th graders so much, but we know they are moving on to bigger and better things as they head into high school!

We are getting closer to our EOG and EOC testing dates, and we still have half of our proctoring shifts unfilled. We need your help to ensure the Mustangs have the quiet, secure environment they need to succeed!

If you have 2 hours to spare, please consider joining us. It's a small time commitment with a huge impact on our students and staff.

🔞 Who: Anyone 18+ and a high school graduate.

⏰ When: Morning shifts (7:30-9:30 am or 9:15-11:00 am).

🔥 Science Sizzles in 7th Grade! 🔥

Our 7th-grade Science classrooms recently turned into laboratories of fire safety! We were thrilled to host Lemuel Hubbard, the Deputy Fire Marshal and Fire Prevention Coordinator for the City of Raleigh Fire Department. The Mustangs got a front-row seat to the science of combustion through some high-impact demonstrations:

🧪 The Fire Triangle: Students observed how vapors—not liquid—actually ignite to start fires.
🍳 Safety in Action: Deputy Fire Marshal Hubbard showed a practical way to extinguish a stovetop fire by smothering flames with a lid.
🛡️ Real-World Connection: Students learned how scientific principles apply directly to home safety and fire prevention.

We want to extend a huge thank you to the City of Raleigh Fire Department for such an engaging visit! We couldn't share these amazing experiences with our students without our wonderful community partners.
