Hey Barwell! Join us at Halifax Mall to rally for the Leandro Plan and every child’s right to a sound basic education. There will be remarks from our partners, music, food trucks, Every Child t-shirts, and more! The event will be a family-friendly morning of education, advocacy and fun. Come out and meet our wonderful partners, and celebrate all that is possible when we invest fully in our children! 🗣Calling all Barwell Families‼️

Public schools are places our communities connect around a common goal, a positive goal – educating our kids. Down Home NC and Education Justice Alliance are working to build a team of public school parents, educators, students, and supporters capable of making positive changes for our public schools and creating structures for ongoing organizing at the local level with staying power.

Our first step to doing that is hosting listening workshops to hear what you want and need from your public schools. We know our schools need so much, but we also think it is important to dream together to create a vision for the schools our students and staff truly deserve.

JOIN US ON MONDAY, AUGUST 15 at Pullen Park @ 5:30pm for a Wake Listening Session. We will provide a family dinner. There is playground equipment nearby for children to play and we will have childcare available on site.

We would love to have you attend! Can you make it?
