As the Broyhill Fellows' Treasurer and event chair, Paola hosted last month’s Past & Present Alumni Connection event and did an amazing job bringing everything together. From creating a welcoming space to making sure conversations flowed, her leadership really showed. Thanks to Paola, students had the chance to engage in Business, Networking, and meaningful connections that go beyond the classroom.

Reflecting on last month’s Broyhill Fellows' Past & Present event, each table created space for meaningful conversations around Business and Networking. Students had the opportunity to engage with the program's alumni, gain insight from their experiences, and build connections.

Thank you to CAPTRUST and the CAPTRUST Women’s Initiative for inviting our students for a site visit! This experience gave our students valuable insight into the professional world and the opportunity to learn directly from industry professionals. Experiences like this help students connect classroom knowledge with real-world practice and better understand their future career paths. Affirmation is a beautiful thing, and I am deeply grateful to my colleagues, staff, and students for recognizing my work with two honors this year — Scholar of the Year in the Business School and the Laura Harris Presidential Award, given to a faculty member who has made significant contributions to the betterment of Meredith College. To know that the people I work alongside and learn from every day feel this way is truly humbling. Most of all, thank you President Sapp and the entire Meredith community for allowing me to keep doing the thing I love most — teaching. These awards are dedicated to my late mother Estelle, a lifelong educator extraordinaire. She would have gotten a real kick out of this. 💙

About a month ago, The Broyhill Fellows' community came together for the Past & Present Alumni Connection event. It was a great evening of Business, Networking, and real conversations between students and alumni. Seeing different generations connect, share advice, and learn from each other made the moment really special. Definitely a night to remember!!
