In our latest blog, “Understanding Attachment: What It Is & How Therapy Helps Us Heal,” licensed therapist Akejah McLaughlin breaks down the science of connection and sheds light on why your body “keeps score” of childhood memories you can’t even consciously remember.
What You’ll Discover in the Blog:
The 4 Core Attachment Styles: Are you Secure, Anxious, Avoidant, or Disorganized? Learn how these patterns show up in both adults and children.
The “Pre-Verbal” Blueprint: Why attachment isn’t just a mindset—it’s physically imprinted in your nervous system and automatic stress responses.
Breaking the Cycle: How attachment-informed therapy (including Play Therapy and Child-Parent Psychotherapy) acts as a rewind button to rewire your brain for true emotional safety.
Whether you’re trying to make sense of your own dating patterns or wanting to build a resilient emotional foundation for your child, this deep dive offers the clarity you’ve been looking for.

Celebrating Disability Pride Month
July is Disability Pride Month—a time dedicated to honoring, celebrating, and accepting the uniqueness of every individual.
This month honors all those with sensory, physical, emotional, and invisible disabilities, as well as all types of neurodiversity, while shedding light on the injustices the disability community still faces. This observance celebrates disability as a natural and meaningful part of human diversity, challenges stigma, and encourages society to recognize the value and rights of people with disabilities.
We are deeply honored to walk alongside and advocate for individuals living with disabilities, and we remain committed to empowering and supporting them every day.
Stay safe and cool this July 4th! 😎 ♿️

As we near the end of Mental Health Awareness Month, we thought sharing information about everyday anxiety versus an anxiety disorder might be helpful.
We all get anxious sometimes; however, it becomes a problem when it interferes with our everyday life. Sometimes we need a therapist for either type—whether we are moving through a new stage of life, experiencing a loss, or have struggled with anxiety for years.
Whatever your challenge, we are happy to provide support if we can. Mental health IS health, and you are worth the investment in your health and well-being. 🌟
