Our students are truly at the heart of what we do at Paint Paper Paste, and so we’re SO excited to kick off our new Saturday Social Media Series - Student Artist ✨SPOTLIGHT!✨

Kickstarting our series is none other than 👩🏼‍🎨CLARA👩🏼‍🎨.

Clara first entered our studio doors in November 2021, and has been a regular ever since. 🤔An out-of-the-box thinker who always thinks of something 💫EXTRA💫 to add to her artwork, it’s never a dull moment when Clara is making and creating with us!

🌈Clara has been part of our Afterschool Art Adventures program since it began, and can often be found getting creative in our School’s Out Workshops, Summer Camps (most frequent flyer several years in a row!), or with the rest of her family in our Family Workshops.

We sat Clara down for a little Q&A… here’s what she shared!

Q: What is your favorite project you’ve made at Paint Paper Paste?
A: I like the little Gingerbread Advent Calendar that I made with my family in a Family Workshop.

Q: What’s your current favorite type of art to do?
A: I really like when we’re making art with cardboard. People may say you can’t make much 3D and round, but I can! I like to give myself a challenge, like making something move or swinging or extra.

Q: What do you enjoy about being at Paint Paper Paste?
I really like all my friends in the afternoon classes, and a lot of them are from my school, and I like being able to hang out with them and make stuff together.

🧐What is a Junior Assistant? At Paint Paper Paste, Junior Assistant is a volunteer tween leadership role for art students in rising grades 6-9.

Junior Assistants are art studio helpers who serve alongside our Art Educators and Studio Assistants to help camps and workshops run smoothly💪🏽🎨.

Their duties range from helping prepare materials to helping younger artists👨‍🎨 with their projects to building community💗 amongst groups of artists.

This week’s theme was: ❤️LOVE DAY❤️

Our artists got messy with puffy paint lovebugs🐞, collaged cardboard hearts💕, watercolor Valentine’s scenes💐, fed rainbow sprinkles and chocolates to the Love Monsters🍫, and even got to doodle and draw on an assortment of cards, Valentines, and envelopes💌!

🌈These escort-your-Artist classes are designed to foster early creativity, encourage the development of fine motor skills, promote imaginative, play, and expose the littlest artists to color, texture, shapes, and more!

🌟Each week features a new and exciting theme carefully designed with toddler interests and development in mind.
