Have you ever tried Grüner Veltliner?!⁠⁠

If you haven't yet, it's worth seeking out. ⁠⁠
⁠⁠
Grüner Veltliner is Austria's most important grape, with bottles ranging from tons of acidity + zestiness in the glass to hints of honey and saffron.⁠⁠
⁠⁠
It's also a wine that is very food friendly! It pairs fantastic with a fresh herb salad + vinaigrette but other amazing pairings include fried chicken, sushi, curry or local favorite Austrian wiener schnitzel.⁠⁠

We grabbed this bottle of single vineyard at our neighborhood .⁠⁠
⁠⁠
Most wine stores will have at least one producer of this grape, so there's no excuse not to try! ⁠⁠

How is rosé wine made you ask?!⁠⁠
⁠⁠
By shortening the time the juice is in contact with the grape skins during the fermentation process. (aka maceration time)⁠⁠
⁠⁠
The skin of the grape is where the color is. So the longer the juice is in contact with the skins after the grapes are pressed, the more color the wine will pick up. ⁠⁠
⁠⁠
And some grapes are naturally more pigmented than others. Think of a Pinot Noir vs a Cabernet Sauvignon.⁠⁠
