✍🏿✨In Waldorf Education, form drawing is considered both an art form and an essential foundation for learning. From simple straight lines in the early grades to complex geometric patterns later on, form drawing supports both academic readiness and artistic expression in a deeply human way. Form drawing strengthens focus, coordination, spatial awareness, and creative thinking. Each form invites the connection of hand, heart, and head. ✨✍🏼

Dear Raleigh Oak Community,
As we continue working toward our long-term vision of building a beautiful and inspiring playground for our students, we are excited to begin creating meaningful outdoor play spaces with temporary and movable elements that can grow alongside our children and our campus.
We are seeking community partners, builders, craftspeople, artists, woodworkers, families, and friends who may be interested in helping create some of the following outdoor features for our students:
Balance beams
Open-ended imaginative play structures
Tables and gathering spaces
Adirondack chairs and benches
Sandboxes and mud kitchens
Outdoor chalkboards
A stage and small amphitheater
Climbing walls and slides
Wooden play hives and nature-inspired structures
These additions would provide opportunities for creativity, movement, collaboration, storytelling, and imaginative play while we continue fundraising for a permanent playground.
Attached are photos of some of the ideas and inspiration we are envisioning. If you or someone you know may be interested in partnering with us to build, donate materials, sponsor a structure, or contribute in any way, we would love to hear from you. Please fill out the form below:

🧪In Waldorf education, students learn through thematic blocks that immerse them deeply in a subject over several weeks. At Raleigh Oak, we are proud to be a public Waldorf school, which means we honor these traditional Waldorf blocks while also aligning with North Carolina state standards.
This unique balance gives us the opportunity to adapt and even create new blocks that meet both educational goals and student interests. Recently, Grade 7 completed a Science Research Block where students explored the scientific method through hands-on research and experimentation. Their hard work culminated in an exciting in-class science fair showcasing their creativity, critical thinking, and discoveries. 🔬

At Raleigh Oak, we believe the Living Arts are essential, nurturing the development of our students’ heads, hearts, and hands. 🌿
This was our first year offering our Naturalist program, and it has quickly become a beloved and meaningful part of our school experience. From curiosity to connection, it’s been incredible to watch the wonder unfold.
Here’s a glimpse into the magic. ✨
Thank you, Ms. Campagna and Ms. Gillespie, for all that you do!

At Raleigh Oak, we love encouraging and supporting student-led clubs and activities.🌟
This spring, a group of our Grade 4 students took the initiative to form their very own cheerleading squad. With dedication and teamwork, they spent recess and after-school time practicing and proudly performed for the entire school at May Faire! 📣
We can’t wait to see what our students dream up next. Have an idea for a club or activity for next year? Reach out, we’d love to hear all about it!

Our Grade 2 students have wrapped up their exciting Weather block! 🌤️ One of the many topics they studied was different types of clouds and even created their own using cotton balls to help them explore the similarities and differences in a hands-on way.
Now, they’ve begun a new journey into Folk Tales and the United States! 🇺🇸 Students are learning about the diverse regions of the U.S., exploring unique landforms, and enjoying rich folk tales from across the country. It’s wonderful to see their curiosity and imagination continue to grow!
