We are counting down the days until we can get some puddles to play in! Bring on the rain, Jesus! 🌧️ ☔️ 🌧️ 🙏🏻😂

I hope you were able to see our sweet little fairy gardens at the fair last week!

We had the best time collecting nearly everything we used to create them right here in Rains County! 🩷

There are treasures everywhere when we slow down long enough to really look 🌳 ☀️ 🌺

Today at Roots & Wings 🩷🌳

We had a great morning taking care of the animals, reading a silly Dr. Seuss tongue-twister with Miss Maggie, and hunting for shapes in nature with Miss Alexis.

Then we got competitive with Play-Doh, numbers, and beads — pressing numbers, counting, and threading as fast as we could!

At lunch, Braley surprised everyone by reading to the group. She had their full attention and it was such a sweet moment.

The big highlight was building obstacle courses with wood, buckets, and hula hoops. The kids designed them, tested them, and then raced through while balancing water balloons on spoons. Lots of teamwork, problem-solving, and laughter.

We also kept working on our fairy project for the Rains County Fair.

Another fun day of learning through nature, play, and working together! 🐓🌿🏃‍♀️🧚‍♀️

We love math with Miss Alexis!

Our age range of children provides a great opportunity for our older children to mentor and teach the littles! ☀️🌳

It’s been a HOT few days but it hasn’t slowed us down! 🩷 ☀️ 🔥

Today at Roots & Wings, we got our hands in the garden as we worked on preparing our fall garden beds! We harvested pumpkin and spaghetti squash seeds, talked about saving seeds for future harvests, and learned about some of the amazing insects God created to help protect our gardens. 🐝🐞🦋

The past 8 weeks have been nothing short of incredible at Roots & Wings Outdoor School! 🌿💚

Our little explorers have spent their days climbing trees, planting seeds, harvesting from the garden, searching for pollinators, building forts, discovering wildlife, observing insects, creating nature-inspired art, caring for animals, splashing in the creek, learning about God's amazing creation, and making friendships that will last long after summer ends.

We've watched confidence grow, curiosity flourish, and countless smiles appear as children learned through hands-on adventures. Every muddy boot, every bug discovery, every garden harvest, and every joyful laugh reminded us why outdoor childhood is so important.

As we wrap up another amazing unit, we're excited to begin a brand new adventure next week—and we'd love for your family to be part of it!

🍂 We have openings in both our Tuesday and Friday classes beginning next week!

If you're looking for a place where your child can explore, create, build confidence, learn practical life skills, develop a love for nature, and grow in a faith-filled environment, we'd love to welcome you to our Roots & Wings family.

Come get dirty, discover something new, and experience the joy of learning outdoors!

Don't let all of those perfect, curated photos on your social media feed make you feel like you're failing. REAL life and REAL learning is messy. It's okay if your dining room counter is currently occupied with this week's science experiment or if your table is covered in artwork. It just means that your kids have had plenty of meaningful learning opportunities this week.
