Another crazy amazing educational opportunity! In tonightโ€™s audience will be four of the seven composers on their concert program. Dr EE Boykin, Dr Tracy Wong, Dr. Rosephanye Powell, and just now Robert T. Gibson just surprised the kids to play piano on their performance. Absolutely amazing experience and opportunity for these kids to be surrounded by these artists

One of the great opportunities of this Carnegie Hall performance is the debut of a new work โ€œTowards the Lightโ€ by Dr. Tracy Wong commissioned by National Concerts

Our kids had the added experience of working the composer to prepare this new piece. Did I mention our students learned authentic Cantonese for this piece?

Dr. Wong is a Malaysian-Canadian choral conductor, music educator, composer, vocalist, and pianist, passionate about helping choral leaders and educators to provide unique experiences for their singers and students.

Tracyโ€™s music reflects the blend of different lived experiences, languages, and musical elements that influence her compositional writing
